@artskids and @jenniferm1973 or anyone who has heard back from Penn State on a prescreen . . . if my D got an email today inviting her to audition for Acting does that mean she was redirected to Acting or do the Acting and MT programs notify separately?
Just asked D @dramamama2022. D said they only correspondence she’s received from Penn State is the message (through Acceptd) that prescreen results were delayed. As an aside, one of her friends called (also an MT candidate) as was told they only planned to “pass” 80 more students’ prescreens. Not really sure what that means - or how many they’d already passed - but I thought it was interesting.
@artskids, thank you for sharing what you know about Penn State. My D also got the email saying they were delaying on the final round of MT Prescreen decisions until mid January so we were confused when she was invited to select a day to audition for Acting. We are going to assume there’s still a chance she’ll be invited to audition for MT until we hear a no.
Penn State Acting and MT are separate departments. Notifications will come from each department. The MT department sent out the notice about the delay in notifications for prescreen results. So you should still hear from them in January:)
My daughter just applied for NYU Regular decision, but when we got the check out page it said Early Decision II. I went back and we had definitely selected Regular Decision so I submitted it anyway. Anyone know what that is about? We do not want Early Decision for any school.
@collegemom I would call NYU directly to find out what is going on. You definitely do not want to get that marked incorrectly.
@mommafaria Thanks! I did call but they won’t have her info. uploaded until Thursday. Common App says Regular Decision so I hope they go by that and not Slideroom.
Anyone else waiting on Rider and Shenandoah pre-screens? We submitted them over three weeks ago; just wondering if maybe we should contact the schools or if this is just how long they are taking.
@collegemom2000 we’re still waiting on Shenandoah too. As well as Ithaca, Elon, Millikin and hartt. I called Ithaca yesterday and they said they just haven’t reviewed my D’s info yet. I’m convinced at this point we won’t hear anything until after the holiday break. Hang in there…
D did reach out to Shenandoah yesterday and whomever she spoke with believes some results will be out this week. Here’s hoping.
@artskids and @MThopeful2022 Thanks!
So pace says that they’ll respond within 5 business days with prescreen results but I submitted mine last wednesday with no results thus far. Does the response time mean anything or am I just looking to much into it?
Pace took just over a week to respond to D’s material.
@collegemom2000 my daughter got accepted to Elon today but we haven’t hear about prescreen yet. I’m hoping that she gets an audition now.
@hmichmom are you still waiting for Pace? Congrats on the ELON acceptance, that’s huge!!!
For anyone waiting to hear from Ithaca… My D just received word that she passed the pre-screens…so looks like they will start getting some notifications out. My fingers are crossed for others who are waiting…
@collegemom2000 Do you mean she was academically accepted? How did they notify and when did she apply?
@mommafaria my daughter has been accepted to Pace and she has an audition in February.
My DD was academically accepted to several schools, including Elon, Pace, Point Park and the University of Central Florida, but she hasn’t had any auditions yet, so we’re still waiting for the all-important artistic acceptance.
Hi: How long did your TCU audition last? My D is auditioning and juggling rehearsal for Senior Play. We live in the DFW metroplex. But have to schedule in drive time. Any insight?
