Musical Theater Prescreens - Class of 2022 (process/response)

We haven’t heard yet either, but know people who heard yesterday with a “yes”. I know they were supposed to release results today. I have no problem with waiting…we have waited since October! I was just curious because it has been the case with other schools that "no’'s sometimes receive their notice on a different day.

My S was notified yesterday that he passed the Elon prescreen. He submitted 11/29 so I don’t think that the time of submission impacted the notification. Definitely an inconvenient snowstorm for all of those who haven’t been informed yet!! My son had to send an email back to Elon confirming his audition date by 1/24. If you want to change your audition date. you need to let them know and after 1/24, they will look at any requested changes. But with a tight turn around like that, I think that they will need to follow up with everyone very soon! Sending good thoughts to all who are still waiting!!

Just found out about Elon. It’s a no for me, but wasn’t expecting much since I wasn’t happy with my prescreens in the first place and I know how competitive Elon is. Onto the next!

So sorry @mtmaybe My D just got the no from Elon too…

That is ridiculous. 7 days to prepare?

Got the no at 10 pm

Wow! My d did not apply to Elon (I talked her out of it; too many apps already, distance from home, inconvenience of auditioning on campus, etc), and I guess I’m kind of glad. Our longest wait on prescreen results was about 3 weeks, and that felt like forever!

Anyone else think the Elon rejection message was a bit… harsh? Maybe it was just me… It’s also the only prescreen I sent in so that could just be normal and I’m not aware of that.

the rejection from Elon WAS definitely very abrupt. Other schools were much nicer, but…the end result is the same

How many students do they accept into their program?

25 ish to yield 16

Elon rejection was very harsh. As I suspected, the “yes” notifications seemed to go out the day prior. The ‘no’'s are a rough thing for sure, but my D has 12 auditions coming up in the next month or so, so she is focused on those! Break a leg to everyone in their upcoming auditions!

Yup-one less trip to take!

While the Elon rejection letter was maybe a bit harsh for some…eh…My D and I both don’t care for all the flowery words…a simple “yes” or ”no” is fine so we can move on and narrow her focus…but that’s just us. And at least Elon’s response was professionally handled…in the sense that they got back to my D when they committed/advertised they would…some other schools string you along in the most unprofessional way…! Lol. :)>-

I have joked with my D that she could use her talents (great writer and knowledge of the process) to start a business in which she is contracted to write kind, concise rejection letters for some of these schools/programs.

My D got the no last night as well. Relieved we don’t need to drive several hours down to NC. Now she can focus on the upcoming 11 she has scheduled. Best of luck to all finding the right fit!

Just out of curiosity… what was it in the Elon letter that seemed harsh?

No for my D last night. She’s taking it very well, time to move on and continue preparing for Chicago unifieds!

“Unfortunately you have not been invited to audition at Elon University. Due to the large number of submissions that we receive, we are unable to provide you feedback. We wish you luck in your college search.”

Not really harsh - just brief. I’m surprised D even got any message back since she realized she had not completed a part of the application and they told her they wouldn’t watch her prescreen.

I have been wondering. What happened to the students whose auditions were canceled at Point Park? Did they reschedule?
