Musical Theater Prescreens - Class of 2022 (process/response)

So it was a no from PENN State heard today. Yes from Shenandoah - we submitted Sept. 12. Yes from Elon - audition Friday. Yes from Carnegie and Coastal. No’s are no fun!

It was a no for my D for Penn State but a yes for Florida State. So bad news and good news in one day. Happy Halloween All!

A yes from Florida State today! The no’s stink. We have been there. Chin up, all. It just means that you are one school closer to finding “the one”

A yes for Vocal Performance at UM today. Still waiting on MT.

I also got a yes from Florida State today

I have a very happy daughter who passed the Shenandoah prescreen. woohoo. Thanks @mthopeful17 so funny that we heard a little while after I asked you about this! I think we are just happy to start hearing back from schools- prescreens were so stressful!

We are still waiting to hear from Florida State and Ithaca. Is anyone else waiting? We sent applications around Labor Day.

We are waiting on Texas State, TCU, ACU, Rider, Ithaca. Passed University of Oklahoma and Illinois Wesleyan. We only sent ours in mid- October though. Long waiting game year!

Ithaca is taking forever… haven’t heard yet. Hopefully we will hear something soon.

@belleforbroadway for Rider try looking in the admissions portal. That is where my D saw she had passed prescreens a week before they actually emailed her. The live audition date showed up as an “incomplete” item on the admissions checklist. We too are waiting on Ithaca!

We’re waiting for Ithaca, too!

HAs anyone submitted prescreens to Rider via Accepted? They said they wanted separate videos but only give 1 upload link

@marysike we uploaded ours to Accept’d - you can keep adding links to that same box where it says upload video. We were a little confused at first too but it allowed us to upload all the labeled clips. I am so curious when we will hear back from Rider! Just submitted it this past weekend. Good Luck!

Sorry to go back a couple pages, but, just to be clear on facts, without offense or without being defensive  , I want to point out that UArts does draw from a national and even international pool of people. The vast majority of the MT and acting students are from outside of the state and region, including international places like Vancouver, Peru, and Taiwan and states far away such as Hawaii, Texas, California, Florida… Also, the acceptance rate for MT is about 8%; for acting, it’s 10%.

Anyway, good luck to everyone on their remaining prescreens! My D and her MT roommate we’re both just talking about the presceens were their least favorite part of the process. After, D had fun with the auditions and meeting people!

UM prescreen results are out…

UM is going out? Have no’s and yes’s gone out? If our recommendation letters haven’t been received yet by them, would that hold up the process?

@mommafaria have you heard from several people that they have received a decision from Michigan?

Heard from TCU today… that was a yes so 3 yeses and waiting on 4 more. I am starting to dislike the weekends.

My S heard today from both U Michigan & Carnegie Mellon. He passed both. Excited to hear quickly he just sent UMich prescreens last Saturday & Carnegie Mellon last night. His applications were complete. Yay!

@MTMomof2 All I know is that prescreen decisions for early applicants with all documents in place went out on Friday and will be sent out again on Monday. I am fairly certain that they won’t look at an application until it is complete.
