some of u may see my posts from time to time that ask "do i have to be good at math for this?" well, now its the sciences. I'm not wanting to do engineering or biochem, just biology w/ ecology. I didnt think this would require much math, but in the Rice catalogue it says that i have to take calc.1,2, and either bio-stats or linear algebra or basic math biology. I'm not BAD at math, i'd say i'm around average. I made a 29 on ACT math and a 650 on SAT math and I've had A's all through school in math except for AP calc which i find pretty difficult and have a b- even with a curve. I'm also taking ap stats but am doing better in it, some of the probability stuff is confusing though.
So, it worries me a little. I have to really study to do well in math, but i am good at the sciences (4 on AP chem, i guess thats pretty good). anyway, will i be able to do bio without being "good" at math? I'm also thinking of pre-physician assistant, and this major covers most of the requirements for that i think. Thanks guys, i'm a worry wort.

help, lol...

Why not just take the PA straight on instead of a pre program?? - just a thought :)

because most PA programs require a bachelor's degree...

BIG - I understand that - but why not do the BS AND the PA at the same time - there are programs like that out there.............

hey guys this post has been dead for awhile and i'm wondering the same thing. I'm not doing to well in AP calc either, but i really like bio and want to do either be a doctor or a physician assistant. Is a BS in bio going to kill me if i'm just average at calculus and physics? thanks.
