I took the ACT's on 12/9. I had been sick for a few days, felt like crap, and my head wasn't really in it the whole time. I got my early scores, and they were pretty low.

When registering, I sent them to 5/8 of my schools, but that included almost all of my "goal/reach" schools.

Is it possible to cancel them before any colleges see them?
Should I just keep them and hope they are disregarded?
Or will colleges see them and just not care, or think "well at least he tried it"?

I'm a senior , so my last chance to take ACT/SAT has passed for most of my schools. Heres the scores:

At this point, I believe it's too late to cancel your scores. But you shouldn't worry too much about it, cause most schools only look at your higher test score. With a strong 2220 on the SAT, I'd imagine a 27 on the ACT wouldn't hurt your chances anyway...

Besides, I'm pretty sure a 27 is near the average for all of those schools, isn't it? And a 2220 is way up there....

I never register to have my scores sent to schools. If I want a school to see my scores, I'll send them to them myself or tell ACT after I get my results to send an official score report.

You can't stop them from going to colleges now, but you can always cancel them. ACT sends out a letter telling colleges the scores are canceled and must be disregarded.

Should I add a small note on the "additional information" section of my application saying I was sick on the test day and to disregard them if I cannot cancel them in time?

I'll probably just leave the ACT section on my common app blank and cancel the scores if I can. If I can't cancel them, so be it, they see the scores. If I really worry about it later on I can just send a letter explaining that I was sick and ask them to disregard the scores. Colleges won't care that I didn't have the ACT section on my common app filled in, will they?

I would see if I could cancel my scores first, but a bunch of my deadlines are 1/1.
