He gave me a B- instead of an A. He's trying to change it but it may be too late. If my counselor explains the mistake in his letter of recommendation will it be okay?

Also, I had already taken Bio the year before and earned A's both semesters so I'm not sure what effect that will have.

Ditto – there is absolutely no reasonable explanation for the school not to work overtime in getting a corrected transcript produced and sent immediately. You may have to be the squeaky wheel (and a very loud one at that) but mentioning it in the rec is NOT acceptable. The only acceptable thing is a corrected transcript

Thanks both of you, I am going to keep pushing until they get it fixed, what I’m afraid of is if it’s too late in the school year to appeal to change a grade. I find it ridiculous that I e-mailed my teacher about it in June, as soon as I found out about the mistake and he STILL hasn’t fixed it. Hopefully it’s still possible, I may have my mom talk to them since they seem to only listen to parents at my school.

I had the same thing happen, but I got it fixed as soon as school started. The
teachers aren’t under contract to work in the summer. I definitely had to be the
squeaky wheel and went through the vice principal (the only one working in June I guess).
The teacher wouldn’t return
any emails or phone messages, even after school started. The VP did tell me that he admitted he had entered a test score as 10 points instead of 100. They should be able to fix this
within a day and send out corrected transcripts. Keep taking it higher if you need to.

Definitely get your parents involved. If you were my child I’d want to go all Mama Bear on somebody’s behind. There’s nothing that gets quicker results than an irate parent threatening a lawsuit!

Ask your parents to call the guidance counselor TODAY, and for them to request that a corrected transcript be provided by tomorrow. Then if by tomorrow night, they do not get a response, then have your parents contact the principal directly. This is SERIOUS and needs to be addressed immediately.

If they don’t fix this in a week, have your parents call and ask for a meeting with your gc the teacher and the principal. They ‘love’ meetings with unhappy parents. Bet they get on the ball then. Had problems With a math teacher years ago. Asked for a similar meeting and I guarantee she got chewed out for dragging her feet after we left once they found out the details. Never had a problem again. certain complaints get written up and the teacher will likely want to avoid that. Honestly this teacher is hoping you just give up. Good luck! Gosh you earned the a!

Get your parents involved right away! Have them besiege the guidance counselor and/or the principal’s office. Having it mentioned in the letter will not work. First of all, because some schools are numerical and will only use your transcript, NOT recommendations. Second, because admission officers do not have time for this kind of nonsense and it WILL hurt you.
Get this corrected tomorrow.

I asked him again today and he said they’ll be able to fix it. If it’s not done sometime this week I’ll get my parents involved. Thanks for the advice everyone!!
