So I am a freshmen at Sac State University and I received cal grant A for the past 2 semesters of college (2019-2020 cal grant). However this years cal grant (2020-2021) I was not qualified for it. This confuses me because my brother who is an incoming freshmen received cal grant A this year (2020-2021). So we both have the exact same fafsa. I double checked both of ours. Our reported family’s income is the same for this year. Both of the numbers on the cal grants match up exactly. Moreover, both of our grades are above 3.5 GPA so that shouldn’t be an issue. I also submitted my fafsa before him.
Another question I have is that on Cal Grant 2019-2020 it says I still qualify for 3 more years. So if I am not getting it this year should be clicking the put on hold button?
Edit: according to Cal Grant A 2020-2021 income ceiling, we are below it. When I contacted my school they said my income was too high? I just don’t understand since my sibling received it this year.
