For Fall 2014 I was unaware that my Cal Grant B got sent to another school. I was under the impression that I hadn’t qualified but now when I logged into my account I found out the I was granted the Cal Grant B and (because my current school was not confirmed as the school I would be attending) I did not receive it even though my actual school granted me the money.
I have now updated the system and changed it to the school I currently attend but my question is: Will I still be able to receive the money that was lost in Fall 2014? Also: have I updated the system too late to be given the grant for Spring 2015?
Are you saying that your current school awarded you Cal Grant funds this fall, but the Webgrants account does not reflect this? Please clarify further, because your post was confusing as to if you received funds or not.
Yes my school awarded me the cal grant this fall and it is reflected on the account. The problem is another school also awarded me the grant because I applied to more than one school as a senior in high school. The cal grant sent my award to the school I did not choose to attend.
You’re supposed to confirm your school of attendance so that they know where to send it to - but I had assumed I didn’t get it and did not confirm anything.
@coolweather Don’t get me wrong I was a little surprised at my aid being low. It’s my first year though so I didn’t really have an idea of how much aid I should expect.
Do you think that if I contact my current school FA office and Cal Grant there’s a chance I can recover the money lost?
