My chance for business college (transfer)?

<p>Hi, I just transferred to CoB about half a month ago and will hear a reply by June. 18th. I'm just really paranoid that I won't get in, so...I'm posting here for some validation.
I probably won't expect a reply back any time soon during summer break but it could help future applicants as well.</p>

<h2>So here are my stats:</h2>

<p>International Student
Race: Asian
Business Core GPA: 3.57 (Only considering the 2 Econ/2 Math)
GPA: 3.80 </p>

<h2>Deans List</h2>

<p>Mentioned in My Resume:

- Active in 2 clubs (1 Business related, 1 Volunteer related)
- 3 leadership positions in the business club/ 1 award
<em>High School</em>
- loads of club participation
- loads of leadership positions in high school
- high school GPA: 3.65

- Trilingual</p>

<p>My essays:
Personal Statement (Good, but not top notch)</p>

<h2>Professional Statement (Much Better than Personal)</h2>

<p>Disadvantages:
- Lack job experiences
- Low business core GPA (?)
- Too little EC in college (?)
- I'm not a superb essay writer</p>

<p>That's about all...
and I was wondering if race matters somewhat as well?</p>

<p>Congrats. Your stats were actually good. I just want to comment on the “race” question because I am not sure how that was intended. Asians are not considered under-represented minorities (URMs) at UIUC; moreover no “international” would be given a favorable factor in admission as a URM since such considerations apply only to US residents. If, as might be the case, your question was really the opposite – does UIUC have any “asian factor” in that it limits the number of asians admitted even though a dispropportionate number of asians with high stats might apply – the answer is no.</p>

My question is the opposite one because there are a lot of Asians in the CoB already and then plenty more were transferring. Plus many of the Asian applicants had higher GPA than me, so I thought my chances were pretty slim.</p>

<p>Hopefully my stats will be a helpful piece of info for future applicants, even though most admitted freshman are probably not busy looking at transferring into business yet.</p>
