I'm applying liberal arts to all of them: Linguistics at Carnegie, Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU, English Lang/Lit at BC, Undecided at Rice, and I picked Writing as my career interest on the Common App for Brown. I don't know how helpful that information is, but I know it affects my chances at Carnegie. Oh, also, I am a white male.

SAT subject Test scores:
Math II: 800

US History: 620 (I didn't send this one to Brown... I know it's not "awful" but I didn't want to send them my lowest score, perhaps out of hubris.)

Most of my essays are good, but not spectacular. My essay for Carnegie is probably one of the best things I've ever written, because I put a LOT of time and effort into it.

Carnegie Mellon is my first choice. I'm applying Regular Decision to all of them. I have triple legacy at Rice (my dad and his parents), which I hope will help! Brown is my reach, by the way.

I think I'll get into at least one of these schools, but I'd like to hear other people's opinions to hopefully calm my nerves. Thanks!
