I'm beginning to apply to colleges, and I've finally narrowed my list down from 30 (!) to 6 direct-entry nursing schools. These schools either admit all of the most qualified freshmen that apply to their nursing program and you start nursing classes in your freshman or sophomore year, or they take a very small, select group of freshmen and guarantee them a spot in the nursing major group that everyone else has to apply to get into as a junior in college. Either way, it's very competitive. My 6 schools:

Safety: Georgia College and State University (the admissions officer pretty much promised me that I'd get into the school and the competitive nursing cohort)
Likely: University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Pittsburgh, Clemson University
Reach: Case Western Reserve University, Northeastern University

My concern is that I'm pretty sure that I'll be accepted to most of these schools. My GPA is 3.9 and my SAT is 1960 M/CR, 2020 for all 3, and I have plenty of extracurriculars, volunteer work, and leadership positions. However, nursing programs are ridiculously competitive, and I don't want to apply to a school only to be accepted to the university but not its nursing program.

If anyone knows anything about what my chances might be of getting into these schools' NURSING programs, any advice would be greatly appreciated! Or, if you want to suggest another good nursing school with a direct-entry program, or if you have something factually and constructively negative to say about one of my school's programs, please share.
