My Chances for RD

I know you are probably tired of looking through these and giving your opinion, but if you have the time it would be much appreciated.

I have taken mostly accelerated, honors, or AP classes. Over the past 4 years i will have taken 5 APs. Of the APs I've taken, I received a 3 in World History, and a 4 in U.S. History.

Sports- I have played Soccer all four years.

Jobs- I was a soccer referee for the past five years.
I was a camp counselor for the past four summers.

Extras- I was an Illinois State Scholar.
I was on the Church Council for the past two years.
I went down to Mississippi after Katrina to rebuild houses for a week.
Every Christmas I go into the city and hand out "Christmas baskets" or presents that were bought by volunteers.
I am in Business Professionals of America and am currently going to the state competition for Interview Skills.

I know that my ACT is in the range, but my GPA is lower than the average. Davidson is my number one school; however, I know that it is a stretch for me. I am just looking to see what people's opinions are on my chances at Regular Decision. Thank you for taking your time.

hey man, i think you definitely have a chance. have you visited? that helps to show serious interest. like you said, your GPA might not be as high as most people here, but ive seen that its more about showing your willing to take on challenging work and work hard than necessarily just getting all A’s.
Definitely think more before you do this, but if it is your undoubted number 1 school, you might want to apply ED. if you ask them, they will estimate your financial aid before you apply ED if money is a factor. But, looking at the numbers, applying ED can help a lot with getting in here.
Good luck man

Thanks and yes I have visited. The ED deadline has already passed, and I do regret not applying ED. Also, do you enjoy it there? When I visited I really enjoyed it, but sometimes what you see on the tour is not the same as what really goes on. Thanks again for your time.
