Hey guys
So I'm currently a sophomore in NJ and my high school is one of the best in the state. My current GPA is a 3.58 and my grades have improved since last year.

Since Im going to be a junior next year, I was wondering how can I increase my chances of getting into UNC.

I was recommended for English AP next year and History Honors. Please help, UNC is my dream college

(I'm african american if that helps in any way???)

Thanks so much x

Being an URM is a hook. However, you definitely need a GPA boost. Take the hardest course load junior year and get the best GPA possible then you could apply EA. Also, to increase chances, you should start SAT prep because you should have a 2100+. What are your interests? Focus your ECs and try to obtain leadership positions hope this helped!

Chance me?

I agree with all of what georgetown14 said. You should definitely increase your GPA and focus on EC’s(academic clubs(Mock Trial and Model UN) and community clubs are a good way to go). Also, leadership positions are very appealing. Try to take AP courses that you will do well in. Colleges really focus on your junior year to make sure that you have taken/are taking a rigorous course load.
