I'm a high school senior, live in the L.A. county, and am cuban. I'm ranked about 90 out of 600 students in my class. I've taken AP us history and received a 2 on the exam. I also took the AP language test and received a 3. My Academic GPA (10-12) is 3.4 and I scored a 1760 on the SAT. I was in baseball my freshman and sophomore year, and played basketball for half a year. I started my journalism class/extracurricular club junior year, and worked my way up to become an editor in my senior year. Will i get into san diego state??

ECs aren’t considered by CSU schools. It’s really a GPA/test score thing. All majors at SDSU are considered impacted, so although your stats meet (easily) the minimum requirements for a California resident, it’s simply a matter of how many apply who have better numbers than you do, and where the actual cutoffs occur.

Remember San Diego residents who have the same stats will get preferential admission to SDSU so look into CSUs in your area you can be happy to attend if it doesn’t work out.

I know of several people who have been admitted for Fall 2011 started last night.

I was admitted last night with an invitation to apply for honors. My stats were 3.5 unweighted, 4.1 weighted (because of C’s in calc) African-American student, 1880 sat score. I’m shooting for ucsd though since my extracurriculars top my grades by a long shot
