My chances to get into csu pomona?

im a senior in high school, and i plan on going to pomona which is my 1st choice. my gpa is 2.59 and my ACT is 23 but im retaking it again. i want to major in buisness admin. (finance, real estate, and law department) i heard buisness was a easier major as well.
my friend that just graduated 2010 got into fullerton, and eventually into Pomona after being on the waiting list, cuz he chose aerospace engineering which i think is harder to get accepted due to the fact that the major is more challenging? he had a 2.6 gpa, and 1600 SAT.

Your numbers look a little low, but historically, Pomona hasn’t been too difficult to get into. There seemed to be a lot more competition this year and a lot of people got rejected, but then at the last minute, Pomona came back and accepted them. I’m not sure what the average gpa and test scores will turn out to be.
Since you’re planning on retaking the ACT, work hard to raise your score and I’m sure that will help your chances. I bought my son a Princeton book that contained just the ACT practice tests and had him take them. The practice seemed to help him and he got a 28 on his ACT.

Good luck to you!

Your GPA seems a bit low. Keep in mind that CSU only looks at your math and verbal SATs and not your writing score. Based on 1600, Cal Poly Pomona’s latest average was 1060 and the average gpa was 3.4. I have not idea what the admissions office was up to this year, but it seems like they may have screwed up if they accepted a 2.6 gpa. Aerospace as well as business, are not typically impacted majors like architecture, civil, mechanical engineering and animal sciences. Heck, if the admin screws up again this year, you may have a chance!

Your stats seem a bit low. Please let us know how it goes.
