My chances to get into UCF

Im in the IB program and im going to begin my senior year in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if I could get into UCF becasue I really wanted to get in I have a 3.1, 1710 on the SAT a good amout of community service hours but hardly any ECA's, I also haven't taken the ACT yet. Also the 3.1 isn't weighted, it's my cumulative GPA(I haven't re-cauated it yet). I've taken all pre-IB level classes in 9th and 10th, 5 IB level classes in 11th and 3 Ap classes from 10-11th grade (I heard colleges recalculate your GPA depending on the classes you take, and give an extra point to IB/AP classes and .50 to pre IB/Honors classes).

So I was just wondering if I have a good shot to get in

I feel you have a good shot, but for the summer term. Not trying to be rude, just realistic, but the GPA is not high enough for fall. Otherwise, I do not think they’d reject you. Either accept you for summer, or defer you for further review. Best of luck:)

Thanks, I appreciate the honest response. I was just wondering when exactly im supposed to apply for the summer term.

You can apply any time! It’s best to apply early, so I’d aim for September, if not, october is still considered early. Just make sure before november:)

If I apply for the summer term earlier (september-october), will I have a better chance to get in? Also, I heard colleges really like to see improvement in students, is that true? In 9th grade my grades were horrible, and then in 11th grade (the grade thought by most to be the hardest in IB) I got my grades up alot (between 3.2-3.5).

Sorry it took so long to reply! Yes, applying early really helps! The longer you wait, the more students they have to choose from, and many of those students have high stats. So applying early is a smart choice. From what I hear, every college looks to see improvement:)

Wow that’s great, my recalcualted GPA is between 3.6-3.7 so its not to bad. I think I could get into colleges like UCF and FSU but most likely not UF

Hello everyone, I have recently gotten into UCF, FSU, USF, and FAU…just not UF
My Weighted GPA went up to a 4.1 this year, and my unweighted is 3.2

Great job! Congragulations to you, I’m sure it’s a wonderful feeling! I’ve also been accepted to UCF, and will be attending there, hands down. It was the only college I wanted to go to. Trying to decide right now, for which to attend?:)

Wow i might see you next year, since I’m probably going to UCF

Sounds wonderful! Just make sure you choose carefully. I would go visit each campus (if you haven’t already) and usually the makes the decision for everyone:)
