My chances?

Hey so I have a 5.1 weighted GPA and a 1300 superscored SAT score. My unweighted GPA is about a 3.7. Im in the IB program and have had all A’s and B’s for the past four years (mostly A’s… the B’s have been in science and math subjects – sometimes cutting it real close to a C, but my transcript has all A’s and B’s on there. Starting the dreadful college application process and just want to know my chances for getting into UF, graduating high school in 2019. I did soccer since freshman year however, I will not be doing in senior year. I started bowling senior year, as well as picked up a part time job. I volunteered for a month in Taiwan over the summer in a remote area teaching kids english – the program was sponsored by the Taiwanese government. I have also volunteered at summer math camps and drama camps since 8th grade. Took AP gov/economics for senior year instead of choosing a filler easy class – idk if that makes me look better. Hoping to study business in college. I am also ranked 18 in my class out of a littler over 650 in the class of 2019 at my school which makes me in the Top 20. With these grades and scores, I just want to know what my chances are to get into UF. Thank you!

btw, I am in state – hoping to apply to many of the Florida colleges like – UCF, UF (obvi), FSU, USF. Also hoping to apply to NYU and maybe Syracuse. what are my chances for these colleges too?

You’re chances are decent. Your SAT score is low, but your GPA/class rank/course rigor and EC’s are strong. UF puts more weight on GPA/course rigor/Essay, and EC’s than test scores…UF will also consider that you’ve taken more rigorous classes your senior year.

Good Luck!

I like your chances. It still amazes me that a 1300 is low these days. Do a great job on your essay and spend a lot of time on your application.

Thank you guys!
