My chances...

i have a weighted average of about 104 but i go to a nyc school that lacks competitveness and has a graduation percentage of less than 50%. i'm ranked first in the junior class.

i've been in:
marching band 2yrs
concert band 2yrs
jazz band 1 yr

i will be in:
national honor society this year and next
leadership, freshman year and next year
yearbook, next year

i have over 400 hours of community service.

i'm fluent in spanish.

what are my chances of getting into vassar?

-40%

optimistically

for Vassar, i think you have an excellent shot. good luck and keep up the good work

I actually think you have a good shot ANYWHERE. If you can prove to the school (through your essay or whatever) that you were an inspiration for kids to stay in school, and your community service hours were put to good work, then I'd say every school needs someone from an urban background like that.
