Let me explain. Haha. I have a pretty heavy load picked out for my senior year, including Anat & Phys, Physics (@ a local university), AP Spanish, Two University Bio Classes (cancer bio and human bio (online)), and AP Calc BC.

So, with this schedule, I have TWO FREE PERIODS on Mondays (and would be done with classes at 1 PM)
However, I was thinking of taking "Walking for Health" during one of those free periods and just TA-ing for another.

Would it seem bad to colleges if I take a walking class? Haha.

That's flippin' awesome.

lol, with your rigorous courseload i think you'd NEED a class like that. :)
myself... i'd go home and sleep. :P you're gonna need it senior year!

Haha...Yay. I'm glad to hear this. Haha. I was afraid that it would be a joke or something. Haha. I just want to exercise a bit and catch up with friends while we walk. Haha.

Guess like I'm taking the class! :]

Holy crap. That sounds like the best idea ever invented.

...or you could just take a free. Colleges will understand that you've got a lot of work, and you can use your free period to study/get ahead on homework.

Take it from a current senior: once you've already gotten into college and your work load and stress level decrease, it's really nice to have a free period to just hang out with friends.

My college counselor told me never TA for a class. Colleges look down upon it for some reason. Tutoring is a better idea if it's available at school.

ChickenSoup - Well, the walking class is at the local university (which is about a two minute walk from my high school), so it is a one semester course. So, the class would run from Sept-Dec. I wouldn't sign up for it my second semester (when I know what college I will attend). In fact, I'd lighten the load by a bit more.

Flip - Oh, TA wouldn't be on my transcripts. I just do it during my free time to get to know teachers a bit more. Some of them have lots to handle, and I have time, so I don't mind helping out sometimes. It wouldn't be a class. Plus, the teacher I plan on TA-ing for is incredibly cool and knows a lot about college admissions - she gives great recs as well. Haha.

I TA'd in 10th grade and my college acceptance stuff turned out all right. (Then again, I had a full schedule plus two independent study classes that year. [Then again, one of the indie classes was PE. :p])

I TA'ed this year amongst 6 AP's and an honors...and my college acceptances went down the tubes o.O

Well... with something as impressive as 6 APs and an honors class, I can hardly believe that a mere TA period would bear sole responsibility for the poor returns on your applications. :-/

Yea I know...I'm just trying to come up with simple excuses lol :P

Oh. Well, carry on. :)
