Yeah, I've got a 3.8 GPA this marking period (one B+, two A-), which has been irritating me so much.

And my math teacher, who gave me a B+ is completely unfair. I got an 89 on a test, and I wrote one of my answers ABOVE the equation rather than below, but I did circle it and it was the ONLY answer on the page. She took off FULL credit, and I asked for one point- just ONE- for putting the right answer and she yelled at me in front of the entire class and said no. If I had gotten that one point, my grade would have become an 89.5 and would have been rounded up to a 90.

For the rest of the year I'm going to work so hard to get my grades to average out to all A's. I'm taking one of the toughest courseloads, but that still does not excuse the B that I got (first B I've ever gotten btw). Do colleges look at these grades, or do they just look at final, year-round averages?

Anyway...anyone else have similar stories? I'm really angry right now about this.

A B!!!!11@@!11211! Go ahead and lease that used Volvo now...

Chee. Step back and think about it rationally. A B won't kill you. It hasn't killed anyone before. It's just a letter. But I agree that your teacher was being pretty ridiculous.

though complaining about a B+ for a marking period is a bit excessive, i believe that your teacher did screw you over and that you do deserve those points she took off.

Annoying? My only A- ever was a 93.99. I was .01 percent off and my teacher refused to give me a single extra point even though I had turned in all of my assignments and was offering to do any extra work she wanted me to. There was one assignment she had excused me for because I was absent (a 10-point quiz) and if she had just let me do that tiny quiz, I would have gotten an A.

But you know what? I realized, it doesn't matter at all. Colleges aren't going to care about a 4.0 versus a 3.95, which is what you'll probably have. So use the time you would spend agonizing over how unfair it is to do something that colleges WILL actually care about--volunteer, do an experiment, something like that. It will help your application--and more importantly, you--a lot more.

I know that ONE B isnt bad, I'm just overly ****ed off at my math teacher for taking points off on such a stupid thing. I mean how would you feel if you actually deserved an A, but missed it because of such a stupid thing?

First of all, it's only the semester grades that count. Secondly, consider your self lucky, I'm a straigh A student with three C's. I have a 2.86!!!! That doesn't even count as passing! The most frustrating part is that I missed one of those B's by .1% and my teacher wouldn't give it to me, but I'm not too concerned because it's not my semester.

i totally understand how you feel
in AP econ, i screwed up the first test, then ive gotten As on EVERY OTHER TEST and my grade is barely a 90.2 or something ridiculous like that and we have a final 2mrw!!

and I have an A- right now thats a 93.99 too!! its cuz ive had cross country meets and missing some participation grades!
ahhh

I think I failed my Calculus test. But good thing I can make it up. Somehow, my senior year has gotten so much harder than all other years. I've never had to work this hard before.
