I only can take 2 ap next year when I'm a junior... what should I do about this? Should I take some classes next year so I can take 12th grade level classes for junior year? (Note: my HS offers 10 ap courses when in 12th) Should I take some courses at my community college to make up for it?

If you really want more APs next year, talk to your guidance counselor and try to get them to make an exception. With luck they'll see you as dedicated.

No. Do not go to community college! That helps you in no way if you want to go to elite universities. Do your best with what your school offers and do reasonable amounts of APs - you don't have to do EVERYTHING.

Look into applying to a good boarding school and leave the place of limited opportunity. Have you ever looked at the curriculums offered?

Actaully, going to a community college or taking actual university courses just shows some drive to take a class or advance.

Although it isn't anything too major, I think taking university classes shows your ambition.

THe boarding school idea is pretty good too, but cost is high.

Many boarding schools have large endowments and have 30% of students on financial aid.

Don't you have to pay off a large sum later on?

The large endowment funds grants......no payback at all. Some money will be students loans and the school funds that themself and the payback is small at a low interest rate. boardingschoolreview.com

Er... self-study? If you can beast an AP Exam(a difficult one) by self-studying, it really says something about your character.

Why self study when there are HS w/ amazing faculty & curriculum offerings.....way more than AP could ever hope to be. High level material presented by high level faculty trumps self study of AP in my view.

Will only two ap's and my other three honors classes that I will take in 11th seem easy to colleges? I will maintain very good grades in all of them, but I'm worried that two aps might not be enough. I can't do boarding school, it's a long story. Also what is self-study? I have never heard of that before.

Lol. That is such an AzN thing to say. Haha.

Get the best grades possible, develop some meaningful EC(ie. DON'T join like a bunch of clubs that meet once a week just so you can put it in your application), and you'll be fine.
