My Letters of Recommendation. HELP!

Hey everyone, I have a quick question about the recommendation letters. My family and I are moving from Florida to California later this summer. Next year will be my senior year, and I was wondering whether or not colleges would accept letters from my school here in Florida.

I'm planning on applying EA to Georgetown in November, and I think that this will be a very short amount of time for my new teachers to get to know me. At my school in Florida, I'm in the IB program so I've had the same teachers and counselors basically all throughout high school. Obviously their letters would be better than letters from someone who has only known me for 3 months. I don't know what to do! Do colleges allow letters of rec. from previous schools or do they have to be from your current school?
Any advice would be helpful!
Thank you!! :]

I would recommend getting recommendations from FL. Colleges won’t really care, they want teachers that know you (I think they actually recommend junior year teachers).

FYI, one of my close friends transferred from one HS into mine for his senior year. He ended up getting recs from his old HS applied to many such as Stanford and Harvard and it was viewed as a valid app. Didn’t get in (ended up on the waitlist).

Wow, that’s really ironic :] i just responded to your post on the “senior checklist” thread lol
Thanks a lot!
