My midyear grades suck

I've maintained all A's since freshman year until this senior first semester, and I am now poised to get two B's. My colleges will think I'm slacking off, when I've been the busiest in my life. :(

Am I screwed?

Not even worth a comment

(just looking for compliments is so not cool as my Ds say)

Two B's probably won't kill you, especially with your excellent record so far... I wish I'd gotten all As since freshman year.

i agree with goldshadow....i highly doubt 2 b's will kill you. neither will a c most likely. but until you start getting 2+ c's or a d, don't worry!

Agreed. If you need an ego boost do something productive. And if you're dedicating an thread to oh-so-terrible grades, you need a life. Seriously.

how about if i came to the us last year and i get a B+ on my english junior and senior year. But get like As in AP history and journalism. Would that B+ kill me? I have a 770 verbal and i write for the newspaper if that makes a difference

I don't think Lord Asquith is looking for an ego boost at all. I'm in the exact same situation and I'm really worried too. My B's are borderline - 89, 88 at the lowest. I went to a Yale info session this summer, and I remember the admissions officer saying that they decided not to admit two kids who they were planning to let in because they had 3 B's, even though they were taking 6 or so AP classes. So I really have no idea how much this is going to hurt, but I guess talk to your teachers to see if they can do anything about it? That's what I'm going to do.

Who cares about your dilemma? I got an A-. An A minus! All of my English grades have been A+'s ever since I was in 5th grade. Simply unacceptable!

Obviously I'm joking. :)

no i'm serious esp. since the county didn't acknowledge my english credits from my public korean school(not international). i had to take english 9 and ESL junior year, english 10 during the summer and english 11 and english 12 right now.
i got a B+ in english 9, A in ESL, A in english 10, I think a B+ in English11, and an A in english12. Will that B+ in english 11 despite the fact that i write for the nespaper and got a 770 verbal and have As in all my AP social studies class reduce my english skills into insufficiency?

I AM NOT BRAGGING OBVIOUSLY. who would brag about taking english9 junior year? So i'm really serious

Even if he's not looking for one, dedicating a thread whining about grades that are very good to many people is not only stupid, it's thoughtless. Suck it up. Talk to your teacher, counselor, whatever. Don't make others who would love to get B+'s feel worse.

I never said you were. I did, however, say I was joking. Calm down.

Automatic reject. AUTOMATIC. I'm 99% sure any top-50 college will automatically put your app in the reject pile if you have 2 B's...my friend who goes to college told me.

well.. i think you will get rejected. Am I kidding? I am serious. With that kind of mind set, you won't succeed in colleges.

uh i was freaking out btw. i was just concerned on how it would affect me. So any answers perhaps?

...oh, dear.

If you can't answer this for yourself, grades obviously aren't indicative of intelligence.

dude, you guys are ****in screwed -- pack the bags, its time for a spankin from the adcoms

must you be so rude? Does Lord Asquith's question really bother you that much? He was just asking. Maybe... ::GASP::... he really wants to know?

I think you'll be fine with two bs, especially if they're ap or whatever. Just don't let them drop any lower.

But people have already answered. Does he really need more encouragement?

And I see where I messed up. I got imiracle confused with Lord Asquith. Sorry imiracle, I thought you were the OP when I made my last comment.

crrrry...
tears....

you gonna cry? You gonna squirt some?
Sniff.
Two B's... guys, a moment of silence please.

Two B's, or not two B's.... that is the question!
