It seems that you still are rusty on some topics and therefore are making mistakes. You don’t seem to have a solid understanding of grammar and should try to fix that right away.

And thank you for the idiom technique. I’ll try that but CollegeBoard will try to find a way to oust me once again. :)

So study up on
17)Tense Consistency?Parallelism? Conjuctions?

25)So to make sure. Never use one or you unless that’s the main thing tested and there is another one/you in the sentence.

8) Pronoun-antecedent?

Im kinda looking for an analyzation of my weak spots, like “Your not asking yourself _______”.

17) yes tense and parallelism

25) yes I have used that in all my tests and has never failed me.

8) yes pronoun-antecedent.

I would say I’m not “qualified” to give you advice on how to study since I still haven’t 100% mastered the writing section. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I don’t want to give unsubstantiated advice but in my opinion, you still have to study up on some topics.

How do i study up on it, I mean I already read the Metlzer section over, but it doesn’t seem to reduce the errors

Try going on youtube or google and work from there.

Come on guys! Join the conversation! What is your progress so far? How are you studying?

Ding dong! The common app has been officially released.

This event reminds us that we are one step closer to our dreamed American colleges. Yes, close, very close. But NOT there yet. A final boss awaits us, my dear friends, the October SAT. Full of powerful tricks and vocabs, it will certainly unleash its gruesome devastation upon us pitiful human test takers.

Even so, fear not oh my brothers and sisters. United we stand, and the hierachy in that food chain shall be reversed. The hunter shall become the hunted, and victorious shall we emerge. It is for that very future without SAT as we envision, that right now we must immerse ourselves in the vicious cycle of (goddamn) reading, writing and math. For the future … Oh, the future …

That aside, did anyone succeed in trepassing the threshold of 700 reading? I am so close … yet everythings seems so tantalizing to me…

Great speech. Haha.

I think I have but I’ll only say if I got it during a full-length practice test.

Also the vocab is so volatile. If I’m lucky during test day to get vocab I know(which is highly unlikely) I might be able to get well above a 700. Those 2-3 questions in vocab can really make a difference by giving me an amazing score or giving me threshold in passage based questions.

I feel like getting 19/19 is extremely hard and there is some luck to it. So for now I’m studying vocab from a variety of sources and working on reducing my passage based errors.

Warrior I’m with you on that one. I got a 680 last time I took a real practice test, but I went over like 1 minutes in as section(I couldn’t help my self ). I’m not sure if the results are accurate. I really want to assure a 740+!

MedicalBoy, I’m also hoping I’m lucky during test day! I got 3 SC wrong and guessed on some of them, so that can’t be a good sign. Hopefully if I enhance my vocabulary, hit at least consistent 17/19 on the SC, and stop doubting myself on the passages, I might be able to assure at least a 700.

2 vocab wrong means only up to 4 passage based wrong. Cutting it a little to close if you ask me. Either I improve in passage based or vocab.(or both lol)

@MedicalBoy I’m seriously in need of CR! I can’t score over 550 and I definitely need at least a 650 for my dream school! Help!

Btw I think your idea is awesome! :)

I must get a 1500 (CR and Math only) to even be considered for this full tuition scholarship. I really need that 700+ in CR! But to be on the safe side, at least a 740 I’m really hoping I can pull of a perfect on the math too, so that I can take some of the pressure off of CR.

Hi guys I’m taking the October test too since my score the last time was not really well :(( 1900
( M: 800 CR: 540 W: 560)
Can’t someone help me how to raise my CR score rapidly cz now my CR score through practice only around 600+
Anyway I’m kinda good at Math ( 2 times 800) so im willing to help u guys with your math :)))

studyforfuture I have same issues with you. Check out The Effective Way to Attacking SAT Reading online or in CC. Or like me, ask for help here. Try new ways on doing the test. Keep up the good work! ps. I could never get an 800 on math! I always have like one wrong that gets me 780.

@Studyforthefuture what advice do you have for math? I’m consistently getting around a 640 and I really need a 700+, also I seem to get a lot of function questions wrong so where can I brush up on those? Thanks

@Jeniferlien: I 've read and taken a lot of practices. Some how my scores keep staying around 600+ :((
Anw tks for the encourage
@ Everton17: i think you just need to review carefully what you have learnt and practice a lot :)) Also you could see some book like Barron’s Math workbook since it has a plentiful of information for function :D

For reading, the best is How to Attack the Critical Reading Section Effectively.

Just did a math section. -0 but I’m giving myself a 760 to prevent myself from feeling good and getting overconfident. This is exactly what happened last time. I did great on my practice tests/sections but when it came to the real thing, I screwed up. BUT this test I timed myself with 5 minutes less(so I had 20,20,15 min sections). I’m taking a full length practice test tuesday morning, so expect a score around 1 PM. :)

I will be taking a full one next Saturday… I’ve been working on vocab, hopefully I can achieve 19/19 I really want to score at least 700 in CR!
