my sat scores

i got 1460...CR-450 MATH-500 WR-510.....please tell me if this is enough to get into a good univ.

No chance...

I strongly suggest you retake the SAT 1. Increasing your score by 200-300 is possible, certainly so if you practice a lot.

if you don't ask for aid there are some places you can get into

You would like to perform better on your math scores especially, if you are an international and if English is not your first language.

What grade are you in?
If you start practicing more, you can improve your scores by quite a lot...

how much do i need for a very good college........like UT-AUSTIN

which book is good for prep...... i used barrons, princeetons and collegeboard.......but want sumthing tht cld giv me more practise and help me get 2000+

All right I'll be frank here. Forget UT-Austin. No chance at all.

I would suggest looking at other SAT Optional Colleges. Do you require aid?

im a high skool junior........

I would suggest looking into the ACT. Many people find this test much easier. I would also suggest a review book- Princeton Review's Crash Course to the ACT (the title is something along those lines) is very helpful. Many people stay away from this test because there is a science section, but they don't realize you don't actually need to know science-you just need to be able to read charts.

I strongly suggest you either retake your SAT or take an ACT.
Like cj_svu6 said many people feel ACT easier.

A friend of mine got 1570 on SAT but got 31 on ACT!!

i know another guy also who has extreme scores in the two tests. ha ha ha!!!!

i know another guy also who has extreme scores in the two tests. ha ha ha!!!! after all unicorn rocks

This guy...no offense...sounds to me like a bum in school...helping him is hopeless...he wants the best but doesnt want to work for it...so let him be...

Check out Princeton Review's "Crash Course to the ACT". Pay particular attention to the directions that deal with the science section.

i second zrataza... a 1460/2400 puts you below the 50% of all test takers. Unless you live in abject poverty (as in your parents make 0 income) and are a URM, and somehow have SUPERB GPA (superb as in 3.8+), your chances are virtually less than 0%

practice a lot...get the PR book and learn all the strategies, they are very useful. If you can, enroll in a test prep course.
