My Thursday Visit!

Hello-
I thought I'd just hilight my visit to FSU on thursday.
Just some random notes.

School is pretty darn big! Not as big as UF, which is very spread out. I like that the newer buildings seem to mesh well with the old brick buildings.

Beautiful campus

Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.

Woman said I have a good change of getting in as a transfer, as long as I complete and submit all requirements (CLAST, 60hrs, prereqs, etc)!

The woman in charge of mapping said I should think about changing my major. I chose geography, but it is in danger... :( So I guess it's bad! My second choice was anthro, but that's another one that's in danger. Sociology it is. If anthro is there, I'll double major :D

Thanks for posting! Glad you enjoyed your visit.

no problem. i was in town, so thought it was only natural :P.

the first time i visited fsu, i thought it was big also. once you get used to it, it’s so small and cozy! you can make it from one corner to the complete opposite corner of the campus in about 15/20 minutes. glad you had a great first visit :]

Thanks!
What’s your major, do you know anything of the budget lately?

My major is psychology, so luckily it’s not in danger of being taken out, though I haven’t been following the budget crisis too closely…However I do know that tuition, housing and meal plans were all raised a couple hundred dollars, at least. I’m pretty sure there hasn’t been a final decision yet on whether or not any of the 21 departments are being shut down, along with the panama city campus. Sorry I can’t give you a better answer about that!

psych is a good major.
i applied for sociology because TWO of my choices were in danger.
Anthro and Geography. ridiculous! if anthro is still there, I’ll hit it up and perhaps double major.
anthro is such a common major! why would they get rid of it? i can understand geography, but anthro is popular.
