My track- freshman (rising soph) help

I go to a competitive hs. #1 in my state.

Looking at me purely academically, how sub-par am I? Is this even on track for a top 30 school?

AP Human- A
Chorus- A
Honors Bio (difficult at this school)- A
Honors Lit- A
Adv Spanish 2- A
Acc Alg 2- B

-

lol you’re fine

your worried about ONE B, calm down, you are fine.

Thanks. schools are extremely competitive and i feel behind. the idea of an uw gpa of 4.0 is getting to me. but this is a little reassuring

No offense, but I want to slam my head against the table every time I see Freshmen making these types of threads. Stop freaking out over a single B. You’ve only been through 1 year of high school. And not every single person who goes to a top school has an UW 4.0. [-(

its very difficult to look at one purely academically, because if your ecs also should be pretty good to go to a top school

A lot of schools don’t even bother with freshman grades, anyway :)

Lol ok then you can go slam your head

And thanks for the other replies

IDK the B hurts but just try harder the next two years. I got a B in AP Gov 1st semester, so next year I know to try harder in my AP classes.

@Yakisoba‌ thank you, finally someone acknowledges that Bs are hurtful. I think I’m capable & ready to work hard (I was pretty stupid this year.) Sorry about your B & best luck.

Don’t worry about it too much. I used to be upset about getting Bs in math when I was very young. It’s good to b showing interest! I would recommend doing some practice problems on khanacademy or something and seeing what you get confused about in math (if at all) , because it can diagnose your issues pretty well. And don’t worry, one B in freshman year won’t kill you and you have an opportunity to learn from it!

You shouldn’t even be on this forum as a freshman. Do good in school. Take your exams. Come back at the end of junior year. A lot of colleges won’t even care about your grades for this year.

one B during freshman year won’t ruin your chances of going to a top-30 school!!! Don’t overreact, its hardly hurtful if at all. You’re not sub-par, not everyone gets all A’s. You can be more than fine if you do well the next couple years, and not dwell over one B.

Rereading my thread and thinking it’s a little stupid… :/

Thank you for the advice and kind words @galaxyexplorer‌ and @Nithin
I’m just going to brush the “B sting” (lol) off and move on. I have 3 years of high school, so I’ll try to take advantage of my opportunities rather than dwell on a grade that I don’t like.

@AnnieBeats I’m here to get informed. Starting early doesn’t hurt.

Yes it does hurt. You are gonna start comparing yourself to other students and your confidence will go down the drain. Leave CC. Come back in a few years.

@AnnieBeats pls, 99% of people on CC have compared themselves to others their whole lives. Hell in 3rd grade we used to brag about being able to read Harry Potter (back then 400-700 pages was a lot)

@Yakisoba‌ That doesn’t make it right.

Who says it’s wrong? It just makes you work harder. And besides, the way I see it, OP is still gonna go on here no matter what anyone says
