<p>I was ecstatic when I received the notification that UCLA had admitted me since it has been my dream school since the 7th grade. However, at the end of my first semester in December of my senior year I got a D letter grade in AP Microeconomics. I immediately notified UC admissions of my grade and I explained to them that I would be dropping one of my classes next semester to accommodate for college prep economics. I dropped my Classical Fiction and Film class since it was an english class and I was already signed up to take another English class(Expository Reading and Writing) in the same semester. So I told UC admissions that instead of CF&F I would be taking college prep econ (instead of AP Micro since it's only taught the first semester) and also taking college prep U.S. Government. At my school Econ and Government classes are only a term long so taking both those would cover that semester class block. My reasoning for it was that taking these classes was to help prepare me for the AP tests I'm taking in May. I received a notification from UC Admissions stating that they had forwarded the updates to the schools that I applied to so I thought end of story right?
When I got the acceptance from UCLA, I emailed them to confirm that they got my schedule change/grade report and they replied back stating that they had.
UCLA's actual reply said,"Our office has received your data change, however, your senior grades are not used in the UCLA admissions process, only the strength of your senior program. Since you have been admitted to UCLA, please submit a Provisional Problem Form to report your update. You can access the form through our decision site under the Academic Changes tab."
I completed the Problem form, but then I got a reply that says,"We received the updated information you recently submitted regarding your course work and grades. We will review your changes in the context of your overall record, and will let you know whether they affect your admission within 15 working days. You may be offered a revised provisional admission contract, or in some cases, your offer of admission may be withdrawn."</p>
<p>So now I'm freaking out, upset and worried that my offer of admission is going to be withdrawn. Do y'all think that UCLA will take into consideration the fact that I still immediately notified them in January of the situation and what I planned to do about it? And will they also take into consideration that I maintained my GPA above a 3.0 NW and that I was taking AP Environmental Science, Psychology, and AVID Senior Seminar which all have a heavier workload than AP Microeconomics?</p>
