My Uf Status Changed??

Vincanity

i coulld easily be wrong about Gurlie's status change to summer B. it could be an error. it just seems that with such a budget crunch under way, the quickest way for UF to raise some funds is to increase oos enrollment. you don't want to see oos applicants with weaker stats taking spaces from in state applicants, but UF has always said that they take a "holistic" approach to reviewing the applications and the grades profile are not the only variable. this year and beyond, being oos may add to the value of an application with good, but not great grades.

Well, my friend from my school got his term changed from fall 2008 to summer 2008;HOWEVER......he called UF today and they told him that the reason why his term changed is because he was considered an Associate Art recipient. He said that he only had 40 credits of college(dual enrollment student) and they immediately changed him back to fall 2008.

Hmmm danny_125, very informative answer! The OP also states that she has dual enrollment credits, so that may be the "glitch" that some have experienced. I'm glad your friend got his status corrected.

Has anyone else heard that they recently decided to accept 1000 less applicant this year??

That was FSU

im part of the dual enrollment school and him and I have about the same college credits(45). i personally called like 10 minutes ago and asked them about that. They said that was true, and also, they need to allocate people to summer so there can be a balance.
One more week

Wait so they are switching people who are considered transfers to the summer?..because i only have 9 dual enrollment credits..which i took at uf..when i called all they could tell me was that that i was being considered for summer B now and there was nothing i could do to change it..:(

I only have three college credits and it says I'm still listed for the Fall. (Includes AP and dual enrollment)

On my application status page it does not show my AP credits already earned, should it be shown here?

no meek, it shouldnt

That would be on ISIS once you get a gatorlink account and the registrar has your info on file.

I just want to tell you some of the benefits in going to UF in the summer besides the obvious slower pace to get used to such a huge school.

My daughter went summer B 2006. No regrets...great time.
Benefits:
When she decided to stay on campus sophmore year in the dorms and get a single dorm, she had so many credits from her AP classes (4-5) and going in the summer with those 6 credits, that she got to register for housing sophmore year early with those extra credits. I think it was the 6 extra credits from UF in the summer that put her in the next category to register early (i think sophmore category instead of freshman). She got her single in her preferred dorm area Murphree-Fletcher. (Freshman year she was in Broward). So, going in summer gave her a definite on campus housing advantage for sophmore year. She picked before her other freshman friends.

Also, she just started sophmore spring at UF and went from a Red 3 parking decal (lowest on campus parking decal) to a Red 1 parking decal because she has 50 credits I believe...those few credits summer 2006 helped put her into the next category for better parking.
Just some plusses to consider.....

Red 1 parking is really helpful if you live on east campus (dorms east of Gale L. Dr. ).

Really Danny? You went on CC and told them my story to be helpful to others? Have you no pride, sir?

wait..so are they THAT unorganized, that by looking at your application/transcripts and credits they are unable to tell that you are not an Associate of Arts degree transfer

I really have no idea. S**t happens.
