My Dad is a Navy Chief and he knows exactly what NAPs is.

By the way, I found out from my Blue and Gold officer that the Academy sent me a letter for a conditional appointment to NAPs and that I am under condsideration for NAPs according to the Acacemy. I'm a filipino girl with okay SAT scores and a 3.5 g.p.a. I got a waiver for my glasses from DoDMERB. What does "conditional" mean?

Oh, yeah I did! I put my initals next to "I ACCEPT". I was just wondering what to do for the "certificate of intent to attend to NAPs" paper. What do I write on the back of the paper that says "FOR CANDIDATE WHO ACCEPTS THE CONDITIONAL OFFER OF APPOINTMENT report of illness, surgery or injury." Do they mean anything that happened to me since I completed my full examination from DODDMERB?

Sweet! I'm a Filipino girl with a 3.5 GPA and I also got a waiver for my glasses! B)

Before anyone panics: BCG's are only required during Plebe Summer at USNA (not sure about NAPS). You can go back to your regular glasses or contact lenses once the academic year starts.

I don't know, but I'd wear the regular kinds anyway.

When we graduate from NAPs, do we have to compete for a nomination from the senator again? Or do we get a recommandation from the commanding officer of NAPs?

I think we automatically get a SECNAV nomination. And if you pass your classes and keep your nose clean, then it's a given for the Commanding Officer recommendation.

I recieved my appointment letter to USNA yesterday. IF only I can get my test scores up like 3 more points for USNA 25 math and english. I need like a 28 or higher to be academically competitive. I haven't decided whether or not I want to go to NAPS, sounds scary.Being considered for NAPS is awsome, you gotta remember that USNA is a very competitive school. You have to be a complete package, which indeed we are. Yeah, I'm in my senior year at school this year. I get picked on alot and teased. Out of my school, no one was brave enough to apply for USNA, I am the only one in history of my region in KY to actually be accepted to NAPS. A couple of students were accepted to USMA and USAFA, just a few and I'm talking maybe 5 at the most. To be honest, I haven't learned anything from high school worth learning academically besides learning not to mix ammonia and bleach in AP Chem. I feel that everything we go through in life is for a reason. Like when you get picked on, the skills you have to develop personally on how not to retaliate neg is important. For me, I have a very mean brother who is 21 and still lives with us w/out a job; he treats me like crap literally, it's hard to live with him. He yells and curses at me, rips up my homework, destroy my portfolios which is required to graduate you name it; not physical abuse though., so sometimes I think maybe the reason why I am going through this is to prepare me for something a head of my life. If I do decide to sign my life over to the NAVY ( in the words of my classmates) it'll be for a good cause. Ohh i must say that the ROTC kids at school mocked me for applying to USNA, they were like good luck getting into that school, it's very hard, I don't even think you can get into it if I can't get into it; but I practically did. If I decide to sign my name onto the enlistment papers within the next couple of weeks or months I'll be thinking very hard. If I do attend NAPS I hope to see you there, we can motivate each other. GO NAVY BEAT ARMY!!!!
