NASS did provide those figures ... I believe they were substantially lower, i.e. % of those attending NASS who receive an appointment to USNA. I seem to think it was about 30%, but I'm confident someone here can edify. It was surprisingly low, which depending upon if you were there or otherwise, could discourage or encourage the long-runners.

30% is still about 540 kids... thats more than the other academies get out of their SS.

Looks like letters are already going out...

a piece of advice if you dont get selected for summer seminar...KEEP CALLING the admissions people that are in charge of it to see if any spots have opened up. They do formulate a waiting list, and you could hear back a week or 2 before your session starts that you got in. A friend of mine from NASS last year, didn't even meet the application deadline (didn't know there even was a summer seminar) so she ended up calling the people in charge of the program, gave them her stats, etc. that the application asked for..and found out right there on the phone that she was accepted. I think she called/got accepted about 10 days before the first session..

anything's possible :)

There seems to be some who haven't seen this stat so here goes again:
NASS has 1800 slots
USNA says the average number of NASS attendees who are offered Appointments is 600 or 1/3....the other 900 slots ( about 1500 Appointments are offered per class) come from non-NASS applicants.
