National College Match - 2009-2010

Where can I see the faxed transcript & test scores? I had them faxed on Friday so it’s been more than two business days but I can’t find it in the My Locker page.

I just need to vent for a moment.

I hate writing essays. I know HOW to write them. I just don’t know WHAT to write! What do I emphasize about myself? How do I find qualities to emphasize that I haven’t already covered elsewhere? Ugh… I know that once I find out what I want to say, the essay will come. I just don’t know what to write. And since I’ll be gone all next week, I need to get them done by Friday… which is actually a relief rather than pressure in and of itself.

/vent

@everyone:

This is horrible T_T there’s always something else that needs to be sent in.

Can i just send a copy of whatever i can print out from the collegeboard that has my scores on it?

Also how do i indicate that I’m taking the US History and Lit SAT2s in October?

@Ju_liaa: I seriously printed from collegeboard with my scores on it and faxed that in. I asked QB Questions and they said that was fine. That’s what they expect. I mean, what are you supposed to do? “Officially” send in scores online? Then why would they include a fax coversheet that said TRANSCRIPT AND TEST SCORES? Literally print from your home computer and fax it in.

@Gillatorby: What do you mean technical difficulties? Because if it’s really a problem, try a different computer? Or maybe you should notify QB…

@applicannot: I FEEL YOU!

So are any of you thinking about having colleges read 4 different teacher recs or are you reusing teacher recs from QB for the COMMON APP for those schools that require both QB and Common APP?

@Crystal: Pretty sure QB wants you to use the same ones.

and for the non QB schools i am also using the same ones. In a common app format though, obviously

WOW MY COUNSELOR IS SO LAZY. I remind her today, and she says she does not have time right now…wth!

[Partner School: Brown University](http://www.questbridge.org/cmp/partner_schools/brown/home.html)

****!!

Brown is a partner school!! We can rank them THIS YEAR in the college match!!

I’m totally ranking Brown. And I wasn’t even going to apply to Brown because of more essays and fee waivers, but this makes it so easy! To rank them we don’t need to fill out any supplements!

Stanford

Yale

Wharton

Columbia

Brown
(RD) Northwestern
(RD) Emory

Lord give me mercyyyy

by the way, when schools say “mail” transcripts, can we just fax them along with the financial documents? example: brown’s match page ([link](<a href=“http://questbridge.org/cmp/college_reqs/brown.html"]link[/URL]”>http://questbridge.org/cmp/college_reqs/brown.html)) tells us to mail the transcript…

Why does QB insist that we use the same two recs for the QB app and the common app? can I use one same and one different? so, for a total of 3? They can think of it as sort of a supp. rec, no?

Does anyone know if a match with Brown is binding?

The ONLY non-binding schools are Yale, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, and Notre Dame.

EDIT:

SCRATCH THAT. I didn’t read the previous posts. I had no idea Brown was new.

I was just on the site (trying to follow the advice often given in this thread :slight_smile: ) and I’m double-checking with all of you on where I should look to get this year’s list of Match colleges for which the match is not binding. What are the most up-to-date links on that issue? In particular, is Brown binding or isn’t it?

All Brown information is still not updated on the QB site…

From website…
<questbridge partnership=“” brown’s=“” questbridge=“” college=“” match=“” scholarship=“” package=“” (link=“” coming=“” soon)=“”></questbridge>

:confused:

@powerbomb
common app? You fill out one of those when you become a finalist right? When you want to apply to the specific schools on your light.

Whew…

Biological essay mostly complete. One down, two to go.

^ I hope you meant Biographical?? (typo??)

(Biological would be pretty funny??? & maybe X rated??)

Yes, I send in my common app, supp app and all other forms on Nov. 2 after I have become a finalist. However, my question was whether or not I could send in teacher recommendations A and B for QB and A and C for the common app, for a total of 3 teacher recommendations. Why does QB insist that we submit the same two for the common app, when the third one can, technically, be seen as a supplementary rec.? It shouldn’t be that big of a problem, should it?

@Powerbomb: that’s what I’m going to do.

OMG!!! HELPPPP!!! Okay, so I’ve never been this worried before EVER. Yale said on their website that it’s going to be a mistake to ask “your favorite ninth grade teacher” given the academic rigor of the selection process for your teacher recommendation. WEll, MY QUESTBRIDGE RECOMMENDING TEACHER IS, ONE OF THEM, MY NINTH GRADE TEACHER!! But she knows me very well. She’s going to write a fabulous recommendation. She taught me in ninth grade, but she’s been my tennis coach afterwards and involved in other debate activities throughout my high school career.

I"m just SO WORRIED that Yale is going to be like “Ninth grade teacher? Nope” and immediately REJECT ME!! What do I do??? It’s too late to ask a new teacher and she seriously is the teacher that knows me, my academics, extracurriculars, the best!!! AHHHHH! I can’t believe this is happening. If this is the one thing that rejects me…I will be so sad.
