Hi everyone.
I was wondering if we could see our QB apps after we’ve submitted them.
I want to make sure that details match up in the Common App, so…

I hope I can push ‘submit’ by today…

Checklist for finalist consideration:

The Application! (no kidding)

Recs

Scores

Transcript

Are these 4 things really all we need? I already sent in the transcript and scores…it would be pretty sweet if all i had to do now was wait for my recs!

@Ju_liaa
Do we have to wait for recs before we can submit the application?

Wait we send in scores to the Questbridge or just the colleges we rank?

Is it possible to just get printouts from the Collegeboard and ACT website?

@muffinish -
You can submit whatever/whenever part of your app. is finished - GAMom2012, (daughter was matched) said some pages back that you COULD/SHOULD submit part by part.

Yes, you can access the QB app.

BUT don’t know if you are able to continue & ‘edit’ up to deadline Sept. 30?

Anyone know?

Good ‘PUSH’ luck to us all!! :D

@Obstinate -
On-line QB App includes FAX COVER Sheet for Transcript and Test Scores for the GC ??

Did I read some post where it said you can post scores yourself??

:confused:

I see all of you guys having autobiography essays with lengths of 750+ words. What would be an “acceptable” minimum?

@driscol: I’m not quite sure how to answer your question, but by a general rule you should always take advantage of all the space you’re given.

@obstinate: I just printed out the page with my scores on it from the CollegeBoard and sent them with my transcript.

And i really don’t feel like i should send my app until minimum the 25th because even if it’s good to submit part by part, i feel like i should maximize the time i have to work on it. I can’t see them allowing you to edit it after you’ve already sent it. That would be really weird…like you could submit it and completely chance a major part of it like the essay.

@driscol
As long as you say what you have to - I don’t think the word count matters (below 800) More is not always better…

@Ju_liaa
QB APP
SUBMIT
EDIT & View Application in HTL
Until deadline?? - Sept. 30

@driscol: I didn’t mean to say that you should try to make your essay 800 words. What i meant to say is that you shouldn’t write a glorious 400 word essay and think you’re done. Your essay shouldn’t look significantly shorter than those of people who actually did write the full 800. But this is just my general feeling on the matter, my essay is 792 words XD

I clocked in a 799. I cut 63 words, but I was happier with the shorter version. Cutting words make me realize how ridiculously often I use the passive word, or how I tend to make even the simplest sentences wordy.

@applicannot: Same here! I had my best friend edit my paper (it sounds ridiculous but she’s like a national merit writer or something of the sort) and she made it about 100 words shorter. Before, i was far too wordy and way above the 800 word mark. With the new reductions my paper is twice as good, thank the lordy.

@Ju_lia et al—
OK - NOW I’m REALLY ready to act on your suggestion about the BOMB!!! :eek:

My 2 teachers were alerted to needing recommendations for my QB App in the SPRING & reminded the FIRST day of school and then sent e-mails (when I learned that recs. had to be sent in a week ahead ie. Sept. 23 at least) They both said they would take care of it - BUT, according to on-line app, neither recommenders have even STARTED, logged on, or even looked at the QB recommendation forms yet. :mad:

If you saw the form, it isn’t just a 1 page recommendation letter and will take thought and time to fill out.

Kind of ironic how teachers are always on our case to do things ahead of /or/ON TIME for their (needs)classes.

I am at my wit’s end - how much can I ask, beg and pester them to GET IT DONE before they get annoyed ??

I really want to see this app. done and gone already.

Anyone else having trouble with teacher recs ??

Anyone all finished???

(I thought I was so good finishing the essays and submitting them, now, I’m afraid mine will be the last app. finalized and might get stuck in a last minute Internet jam) )

UUUURrrrrghhh.....:mad: :mad: :mad:

:o :o
Just re-read your post and I forgot to congratulate you on your AP Scholar with DISTINCTION! Very impressive!

Hip Hip Hooray!

go tocollege. I’m in the same situation you’re in. Ugh . They still haven’t started. Don’t worry somehow those recs will get In

Where does it say the recommendations are due a week early?

Yea, I thought everything is due on the 30th. Where did you guys hear that it is due on the 23rd?
