National Hispanic Scholar

I’ve read that Auburn gives an enormous scholarship to students designated National Hispanic Scholars by the National Hispanic Recognition Program along the lines of full tuition, housing, laptop, admission to the honors college, but I also heard the scholarship includes $1000-$2000 per year for misc. expenses. Am I misinformed or is Auburn just straight up giving you a couple grand in spending money along with everything else? FOR REAL?!?!

Yes it’s for real. Here is a link about the scholarship.

Does anyone know if this scholarship is available for transfers? I was named a National Hispanic Scholar in high school, but right now I’m at the local community college looking to transfer.

Contact the office of scholarships. Maybe they can help you out with that one. I’m sure if you go to the Auburn website, you will be able to fing there number.

Hi, I was accepted by Auburn (Yay!) and am a Nat’l Hispanic Scholar. The day after I received notification of my acceptance, I faxed my Scholar recognition letter to the Scholarship Dept. (My parents won’t rest until they receive confirmation of the money I am to receive, and truthfully, neither will I!) This was about a week and a half ago and I have heard nothing from Auburn. I know I’m overly anxious, but does anyone know when exactly I will hear about the scholarship? I understand that it is automatic with acceptance, but I am still uneasy about not receiving notification about the scholarship. Especially since other schools have started sending me info about their scholarships. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!! :)

My daughter has received a letter stating she will be offered the scholarship. Contact Joanna Jones, as she in charge of National Hispanic scholarships. Email mehrhjr@auburn.edu or call 334 844-7570. She told us about one week ago that the official scholarship offer would be sent out in a few weeks. If you contact them and get any new info let us know.

Thank you for the extremely helpful information. I called Ms. Jones today and she said that I am on the list and will be officially notified of my scholarship in December. Other than that, it seems like she just repeated any information that you already know.
