Texas checking in… confirmed NMF today from counselor.
Principal confirmed that the letter didn’t arrive today here in Iowa.
i am aware that some “no” notices went out a few weeks earlier but is anyone aware if the notices this week are all “yes” or if they send notices to all NMSF whether or not they made NMF?
NMF status confirmed by our school principal today in Bentonville, AR!
My husband and son aren’t good with mail (I’ve found my mail mixed with my husband’s months old unopened mail, or mail on the table under a pile of stuff, etc…). So I’m really anxious about this, because I can’t confirm we didn’t get a rejection in January. Nothing yet today, but my son’s still at school. In MN
@dpBU23 All notifications now are for NMF-Yeses.
Congrats to those who’ve heard & thanks for checking in!
Nothing today in TN. Hopefully we’ll all get good news on Monday.
thanks! I hope that means no bad news in January is by definition good news in february. patiently waiting!!
Another Texan here…no confirmation today…we have to wait until next week now! ?
@acapla CONGRATULATIONS!!!

@acapla , congratulations! Another fellow Texan here but we haven’t received any confirmation here from the Houston area.
@gamom2023 and @kdnmom Any UF news? My son got in! Very happy. The business school tour was very impressive. He is a little on the fence with so many of his friends going to UW Madison, but he is a numbers kid - hard to pass up free. Did not get offered honors, but that’s ok. Hope you both had good news!
And I hope everyone hears the official NMF news soon!
@Mamareeb Yes! My son got in, too! Thanks for asking, and congratulations! He did not get offered honors either, which disappointed him. We’re ready to hear about NMF and were really hoping both things would be answered today.
I think we’re going to need to visit again and see the business school. Our first general visit didn’t actually get him very excited (well, except for the idea of having a moped :-)) as people just didn’t look happy and weren’t all that friendly. (Sorry if I already mentioned that on here…can’t remember.) But, we didn’t visit the business school, so if he gets NMF, I definitely think we’ll need to go back and give it a real shot. The top schools on his list besides UF have already accepted him in Honors and/or have invited him to interview for greater scholarships. But, they won’t be full rides, so I’m pulling for UF. Of course, I’m still concerned Benacquisto funding may not last for four years, and if not, then what? :-/ We’ll see.
Definitely let me know what you all decide! And congrats again!
@Mamareeb and @gamom2023 - Congratulations!!! My son was admitted to UF Honors and was offered a research scholars program (can’t remember the exact title) and a scholarship. I’m going to have to investigate the research program and the scholarship to see if it will stack with Benacquisto (assuming that we do finally get confirmation that he’s a NMF). We are so excited! Thankful that at least that piece of the anxiety is behind us.
Another UF admission at our house tonight as well! Hoping next week brings confirmation of NMF status. Then I need to start understanding the details of how the NMF program works at UF. Anyone know if funding for OOS NMFs has already been secured for next year? Lots to sort thru!
Congratulations @IvyHope2019
Congratulations to your students, as well, @kdnmom and @mountainmomof3 I guess there won’t be any additional scholarship for us, since he didn’t get honors. I’m surprised he didn’t get in. I’m guessing his additional essays weren’t strong enough, because I think his scores and grades were. Oh well, if he’s NMF, we will be very happy and thankful for that, although I’ve heard from students in past years that more scholarships may come later. Do any of you know? And yes, I’m concerned about funding for OOS, too @mountainmomof3 . Even if it’s approved for this year, what about the next three? And if it runs out, do they revert to full-pay OOS students at full rate?
@gamom2023 - that is the only hold up for us. Still very interested and waiting to see how the rest of the admissions process works out. S19 really likes UF but wants to weigh out all of those concerns while making his decision.
My S19 decided not to apply to honors at UF. Congratulations to those who were admitted.
@mountainmomof3 Please let us know if you get answers about those issues, and I’ll do the same.
Just curious… why did he not apply for honors? My son had a 35/1560 and a 3.89 unweighted (not sure how it translates to UF numbers) and will finish this year with 12 APs. He usually writes pretty good essays, but I didn’t read his honors ones. Seems like some with lesser scores/grades did get into Honors, so must have been the essays? Just curious if it’s a big deal that he’s not in Honors or if it’s looked at there as more of just a preference. Thanks for any insight!
