Does anyone know details of the national merit scholarship at Drexel--amount, is it automatic or competitive among NMSF's, renewable, etc? Thanks

Son received Drexel NMSF scholarship as a freshman in fall 2010. It covers 100% of undergraduate tuition for all 4 to 5 years (including CO-op), providing he maintains the required GPA (you can look that up), and remains in good standing. It does not cover fees (they run about $2,000 to $3,000+ per year) or room & board. As far as we understand, it is automatic, but I strongly advise you to have this conversation with Drexel’s admissions office.

Thanks so much for the info. She was quite interested in Drexel before this info (Westphal in game design) and this only heightens it!

My S missed NMSF by 2 points. We were so hoping for it so we could get that full tuition! Hopefully with his stats, he will still get a significant scholarship, but I have not heard of anyone getting over about 25,000. Now I am not sure he will be able to go there, although it is his #1 choice. (Film)

Just had that conversation with the admission office today. They confirm that any admitted national merit finalist gets an automatic full tuition scholarship for all 4-5 years.

Had a great 2nd visit at Westphal today–now d just needs to complete her essay so she can get her application in!

dlbarber ~ my S missed NMSF by 1 point; however, he ended up getting the AJ Drexel so it worked out well for us, it wasn’t full tuition, but we were happy w/the scholarship. My nephew got full tuition (about 15 years ago).

Wait . . drexel gives NMSF a FULL scholarship? I did not know that. I knew there were some scholarships, but not full. This makes Drexel even more attractive than it already was.

Drexel gives full tuition. Still have to pay room and board and all that. But still, yes–it does make it more attractive!

Awesome! Just another good point for Drexel for me.
