National Merit Semi-Finalist Application Link?

I was wondering, what exactly is the difference between the National Merit application and the regular one? I just decided to apply (I know, it's insanely late) and I spoke with the coordinator for NMSF who gave me a "Merit" application link which apparently lets me apply even though it's way past the preferred deadline for applicants.

Does that mean I'll receive a decision at the same time as regular applicants? I'm a little confused as to what I should expect. Anyone know of NMSF applying this late and being accepted? Here are my stats, if it helps.

Stats:
OOS, MI
Male, Chinese
SAT: 2160 SAT (800 CR, 640 M, 720 W)
SAT II: n/a
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.73 GPA, 3.89 UF GPA
Rank: Not sure

AP: AP Lang (5), AP Lit (5), AP US(4), AP Gov’t (4)
Major Awards: AP Scholar w/ Honor, Nat'l Merit Semifinalist

Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Youth Senate (Lead Presenter), Tennis, Symphony Orchestra, Leap the Gap: Elimination of Racial Disparities in Education (Lead Team), DECA, Student Council
Job/Work Experience: Venture Capital Fund Junior Associate 35 hrs/wk, Jr-Sn
Volunteer/Community service: Alzheimer Day Center for Seniors, Jr-Sen, lots of hours, Tutor for underprivileged minorities, some other stuff

One more thing, does UF need first semester grades/counselor recs/teacher recs? I didn't see any supplemental forms, but I'm not positive. Thanks!

Really? No one?

I’m a National Merit Semi-Finalist and never even heard of a special National Merit application.

I don’t believe there is one.

joe, from what I hear there is, but its only sent to Nat. Merit Semifinalists who missed the deadline. This way they can get more applicants to UF.

I don’t really know much about it.

If they want more NMSF applicants at UF, they should offer more “incentive”! LOL

But I stand corrected.

Biply should probably contact them again as no one seems to have an answer for him.

@Joe There definitely is one, I got the link from a lady in the admissions office. Edit: Sorry, posted this as you were posting your second one, haha.

"Greetings XXX! Congratulations on your success as a National Merit Semifinalist. Because of your achievements, you may still apply after our priority deadline through a special link established for National Merit semifinalists. To apply go to: www.admissions.ufl.edu/merit<a href="http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/merit">http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/merit</a>"</p>

I just don’t really know anything else about it, ie would I still get a decision by 2/12? Or would it be space-as-available. I basically want to know if it’s even worth applying to UF at this point.

I’ve tried contacting the admissions office, but everyone’s on holiday until the 4th.
