I was wondering, what exactly is the difference between the National Merit application and the regular one? I just decided to apply (I know, it's insanely late) and I spoke with the coordinator for NMSF who gave me a "Merit" application link which apparently lets me apply even though it's way past the preferred deadline for applicants.

Does that mean I'll receive a decision at the same time as regular applicants? I'm a little confused as to what I should expect. Anyone know of NMSF applying this late and being accepted? Here are my stats, if it helps.

One more thing, does UF need first semester grades/counselor recs/teacher recs? I didn't see any supplemental forms, but I'm not positive. Thanks!

joe, from what I hear there is, but its only sent to Nat. Merit Semifinalists who missed the deadline. This way they can get more applicants to UF.

@Joe There definitely is one, I got the link from a lady in the admissions office. Edit: Sorry, posted this as you were posting your second one, haha.

I just don’t really know anything else about it, ie would I still get a decision by 2/12? Or would it be space-as-available. I basically want to know if it’s even worth applying to UF at this point.

I’ve tried contacting the admissions office, but everyone’s on holiday until the 4th.
