I just recieved a letter saying that I've been nominated to attend this conference. Is this something like Who's Who or something I should consider going?

Bump!!!!!!

yeah, I got that too. I was wondering if it meant anything...because I got it in 10th also.

It really doesnt mean anything, its basically a program where most anyone who pays gets in, it doesnt look that good on college apps

At most schools its a self-nomination thing, where a teacher puts out a sign up sheet and tells people to put their name on it if their interested in medical stuff.

Do it if you want, but its nothing close to prestigious.

I got that letter. The administrator for the arts department aparently nominated me, and I did well in bio last year, but did not take an active interest. I think that that says something about the program's prestige.

its not really that useful for college its an ok program eh its not something to be greatly excited about.

At my school, the national leadership forum is done by nominations by teachers and such. Not every teacher can nominate, from what I am told. My MUN advisor nominated me for the one on Defense and International Diplomacy. A friend of mine did the medicine one, and was even invited back to DC for one of Bush's campaign dinners (kinda of funny...no one around here is a big Bush fan).

I'd say it's useful...but don't expect it to get you in anywhere just based on that. I'm not going just because I don't want to pay that much money.

i got it too, i hear it's a scam

nearly everyone gets it
