Navy SEAP

I only applied to the biology one… anyone apply to that one?
hopefully it’s just an email confirmation for us…

What do you mean by “the biology” one?

The Naval Medical Research Center… or something like that… I’m not all that interested in engineering; i’m still considering it, but I’m leaning towards a bio focus… maybe bioengineering?? hmmm… lol but this center only deals with bio-related subjects so I really went for it. It’s also the closest to my house lol.

hey naji… it’s been about 14 days… have you heard back yet?

No ]: Not yet. At the interview they claimed the reason they couldn’t tell me a week from then was because they need to get their letters approved before they can email them or something. On the SEAP website it says everyone should have heard by May though >.>

~It’s killing me.~

May is waaaaaay too long!!! :frowning:
Good luck!!! The wait must be killing you!

Yeah I know!

just got the email… I didn’t get in… what a bummer!

In case anyone was interested,

Rejection letter:

Thank you for your application to the Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP). This year, ONR received 5,365 applications from outstanding students from U.S. high schools, making the selection process extremely difficult. Regrettably, we are unable to offer you an appointment for the 2011 program at this time.

Representatives of the participating navy laboratories conscientiously reviewed each application. Selections reflected the best match between research interests of the applicants and the ongoing projects of the navy laboratories.

There may be a few candidates who will be unable to accept the offer to participate in this summer’s program, at which time a few alternate candidates will receive offers. We will notify you if you become an alternate candidate.

If you will still be a high school student next year, we encourage you to apply again next year, since the research priorities at each navy laboratory can change from year to year. Once again thank you for your application, and best wishes in your future professional endeavors.

Cordially yours,

The SEAP Team

I didn’t get it either, that’s a lot more people than I expected to apply. Waaaaaah

So, did anyone on here get it? When did you have to accept or decline by?

bump
What additional materials is @AstroPhy talking about?
