Did anyone else receive a Student ID number? I know I have high hopes, but I am hoping that a Student ID number means that we’re in? I doubt it…I know it’s crazy thinking and probably just a way to easily organize the applicants, right? :-/
I received one too, and they updated my residency to in-state. Here’s hoping to them making a decision soon. I’m on pins and needles waiting till the 30th.
ID number here also and OOS, but no decision date is listed. Do any of you have a decision date or is it blank also?
Blank, but it’s supposed to be closer to the end of the month.
Gowolfpacks18, my daughter loves NC State and I am very happy too. It’s a big school, but she has friends with no car. If you enjoy what you are studying, then you will do well. Doing well makes getting a job easier. Nobody can take your education from you. Be wise, this is your best shot. You don’t want to go back to school at age 30. It’s no fun!
I noticed that wolfpaw (and maybe other outlets) are under maintenance for 2 days…could it be they are downloading decisions to accounts so they are available on the 30th? Nothing like total speculation to pass the time
In regards to the student ID #'s I too had mine appear in wolfpaw last week and it is the same ID # I had when I was a non-degree seeking student a couple years ago. So I don’t think the numbers are just for application organization
From what I have read, the student IDs are used to create the Unity ID, which is what is used as an official student. So, I think it is used as organization and then to create a Unity ID only IF you are accepted.
I’ve applying from ECU to be a sophomore (Currently 2nd semester freshman).
UW HS GPA: 3.01
SAT: 1960
CGPA: 4.0 (only 1 semester)
Was deferred form CoE last year, fairly confident I’ll get in this time. Good luck to everyone and hope to see you all there next year!
Anyone think the decision will come out before March 30th?
I don’t think it will be anything significant if the decisions do come out early. I think in a previous year the decisions came out a couple of days early. So, in my opinion, it is still way too long away. hahaha
How many of you guys will 100% go to state if accepted? I was just accepted to uncc but currently waiting on chapel hill also. I believe I will transfer to the place that gives me the most financial aid…can’t believe we are so close to getting our decisions.
They put the decision release date on our applications, so I guess we should go by that date? Mine still says the 30th though
@kpop722 when did yours change to that? My release date is still blank. >-)
It was there when I checked this morning.
My kid’s application still is blank on the decision release date.
She did not apply anywhere else, so she will accept immediately.
Also, juniors start to sign up for classes starting the 1st, so she will push admissions to get her paper work through quickly and then have to get her advisor to remove any releases that she might have so she can enroll as early as possible. The good teachers fill up quickly, and some classes fill up and you have to wait a semester or a year to take a pre-req.
I’m 100% going to State if I am in. I practically live on campus. I wouldn’t have to find a new apartment and I just love the feel of State.
@nealinnc you stated that juniors get to sign up for classes on the 1st…the 1st of what? April?
Here is the way they do it. You get a time slot in MyPack Portal, which you will have access to after you matriculate into a major. Your time slot is based upon number of hours, but it always seemed like there are a lot of kids that somehow can enroll really early. Honors students get early time slots for instance.
Juniors are listed as 60-91 hours. Any class that transfers to State counts. They will give you a “transfer credit report” that will tell you how many hours you have. It is in MyPack portal also. Once your advisor clears you, you can sign up for class. The class schedules are already available for the public at https://www.acs.ncsu.edu/php/coursecat/index.php
They also provide grade distributions in mypack portal, so you can avoid ridicules classes. There is something called tracster too that gives grade distributions but you wont be able to access until you have a student login after you are accepted and pay the initial fee.
The dates for Juniors are April 1 to April 5. If you are transferring 60 hours or more you can beat all of the sophomores if you can get your paperwork by April 5.
This works for summer too. My kid has to take a summer class at State and another and A&T because they decided to teach the only two required chem-e soph classes in the same 5 week summer section when one is a pre-req for the other.
@nealinnc thanks so much for the info. You probably cannot register for classes unless you have paid the enrollment deposit and are fully committed, right? This puts me in somewhat of a bind since I am waiting to hear from unc. I also noticed the second deadline for transfers ended the other day and they will find out in May. Will they have classes to sign up for?
