NC state engineering program chances

My gpa is currently 4.1(W) and 3.8(UW). class rank is 80/400
my school does a 10 point scale so A in honors= 4.5 and A in ap = 5
the reason my GPA is so low is because i moved to NC in 9th grade and the school gave me classes without me getting to choose. They only let me take 1 honors class while the rest were regular, so i couldn’t take classes like honors english, honors math, and honors history.
i took much more honors classes in 10th and 11th grade but unfortunately in 2 of my classes the semester finals brought my A to a 89. Both classes weren’t that hard, but one of my Bs was in Engineering, which is what i want my major to be.
With my other honors and AP classes though my GPA will be a 3.8(UW) and a 4.3(W) after this semester. my class rank should go up to the top 15%.
I tried looking at stats but it i can’t figure out my stats very well for NC states engineering program. The university has an average between 4.5-4.7 but thats on a gpa scale where an honors is out of 5(Im assuming).

My ACT score is a 27(E25,M27,R31,S25) i am hoping to raise it to a 30+ through more studying.

For extracurriculars i have about 100 volunteering hours at the library and am in 3 other volunteering clubs. i plan on trying to get into a position like treasurer or vp for 2 of them. I am in science olympiad, i play soccer(only rec though), am an assistant coach for rec teams, and am a certified referee. i tried to start a chess club in my school, but they wouldn’t let me because another teacher tried and failed to do so in the past.

I assume NC states engineering statistics are based on honors classes being a 5 because some of my friends are in the top 10% of the class rank, but have a 4.3

My daughter had 1 B in high school, 1320 SAT, ranked 14/463, 4 year varsity sport, 2 another, theater, job, volunteer and was deferred. GPA 4.875 has increased this semester and 8 AP classes Top 3% but Wake County.

@kavitis186, I would definitely work on bringing your ACT score up.
NC State seems to love stats and numbers and weighs those factors more heavily then essays, extracurriculars etc.
My child was just accepted to the college of engineering with these stats:
Weighted GPA 5.1
ACT 34
Class rank 4 out of 363

The pool of applicants this year seemed to be very strong.

Good luck

My child was early admit to engineering OOS. 4.6 GPA weighted. Top 5% of class. IB Diploma candidate. 1440 SAT. World ranked athlete. Not much time for other extracurriculars because IB and sport were very time consuming, but was in an engineering club.

Could any of the OOS families share if there was any scholarship or financial aid involved? I’m happy to hear they are numbers based because that is DS’s strength. He will be applying for computer science next year. It will come down to aid given at schools because he is only looking out of state to find specific CS programs. Just curious if you’re willing to share generalities because I know OOS is tough. Thanks!
