NC State Engineering?

What are my chances getting into my dream school of NC State University for Biomedical engineering?

My stats:
Weighted GPA: 4.8
Unweighted: 3.7
ACT: 21

I am an IB Diploma candate, I currently take IB MathSL, IB Chem HL, TOK, IB English HL, IB History of the Americas, IB Computer Science, IB Sports Exercise and Health Science, IB French and will be taking AP physics next year along with my first year of band playing the clarinet.

I am currently junior and have been doing Science Olympiad all my years in High School, and I am currently President of Science Olympiad at my School. I am active in my school’s Beta club , Key club, and Relay for life team. In my junior year I got nominated to go to North Carolina’s Governors School for Science. Sophomore year I was on student council.

Futhermore, I am currently holding an intership at a Bioreposatory at a research center near my viewing area. In addition to 2 other jobs, one in the food industry and another at a track out center for childern.

What are my chances I will get in, I an very nervous for next year and what can I do to improve my application?

Raise your ACT score. Other than that you are completely fine.

Everything looks great except for the ACT score (what happened? seems fishy with your grades). Your GPA is slightly above average for an NCSU engineering student.

Think about UNC-CH too. Might be easier there since it is not an engineering school and their BME programs are the same (literally. it’s a joint program).

Thank you! That’s the thing that i am worried about, I am not a strong standardize tester, I am gonna retake take it again soon, what do you think is a good score to get into BME?

Thank you!

With your great GPA I would suspect you would need about 25+ on your ACT composite to feel safe. It should be very doable for you with some studying. my DD got a 23 on her first try and a 28 on her 3rd try.
