Hey, another rising senior here. Decisions come out monday
Don’t be stressed though! You never know what could happen, I had already resigned myself to be rejected by decision time last year.
Traditionally CD4 is the hardest to get in from, good luck to you all!

Woot another rising senior here.
Don’t worry too much; when I got the news, I was pretty much like “well crap.” and I was on the fence of going to NCSSM.

I’m a CD4 kid. My school probably had 30+ applicants, and I’m one of the 5 that got in. I had a 2050 SAT, probably the one of the lowest of all the applicants of my school, and I got in.

Arg I hate wanting spring break to be over. I wish we got the results before my spring break so that I could actually enjoy it without feeling so anxious :(

Tomorrow’s the big day! How’s everyone spending their final 24 hours before decision time?

Studying for the Calc BC and Physics C Exams, Starting to think signing up for them was a bad idea.

I’m very concerned because two of my teachers did not complete their evaluations. Along with all of the other problems in my application (suspensions, non honors classes, etc.), I’m fairly confident I will not be getting in.

I don’t think that the evaluations should hurt you. At Discovery Day they said that they would work with teachers to ensure that the delayed or lack of an evaluation wouldn’t take a negative toll on the student’s application. Don’t doubt your admittance, but don’t get too ahead of yourself either. I’m preparing myself for the best and the worst. Hang in there!

Do you guys know how the appeals process works? I assume you write a letter of some sort - are you allowed to include anything (such as additional recs, etc)?
Waiting is such a struggle haha… I’m CD4 so I have no clue what my chances are.
Good luck!!!

Hopefully you will not need to appeal. Keep good thoughts. But, if you do…
One of ours did not get in…non finalist. That day, sat down and wrote the appeal. From what I recall you get one shot to write a brief statement regarding why the decision should be reconsidered. The appeal resulted in a waitlist spot…which then turned into a finalist spot. It can happen.

Non-finalist. Got into online.
Results are up.

Hey, the results are out! I’m a finalist!! Yay!
For the ones who are a non-finalist, or waitlisted, don’t give up!!!

Could anyone give me advice on the appeal process?
Thanks.

I was wondering about that too. It says not to build on your portfolio, so I don’t know if mentioning what you have done since you applied would be appropriate. I am trying to highlight why I think going to the school would benefit me, rather than why the should have accepted me.

Did you apply to online?

Daughter of Skrunch is a Residential Finalist.

Residential Finalist! I’m going to start a group for residential finalists, so everyone joint! Go class of 2015!

Residential Finalist :)

Excited to be a part of the “Class of 2015”. Congrats to all those who got in. Those who didn’t, be +ve and appeal. I am sure you will also get in. If the history is repeated, then around 30 seats should open up from now until Labor day due to absentees. Good luck.

For those who got in, there is one more POTENTIAL great news. UNC system college free tuition grant is being proposed by Governor. I assume both chambers are republican, so this should get thru by June. Cross the fingers.

Congratulations for all who made it in, I am genuinely happy for all of you. It’s been 10 months since this thread started and I have seen how badly everyone wanted this, so I am really happy that all of your hard work paid off.

I’ve been so anxious about this process but I am not giving up just because I wasn’t selected as a finalist. As for me, I submitted my appeal last night. Crossing my fingers, but I honestly don’t think that it will work. I have so many bright and talented individuals at my school who also weren’t accepted and are more than likely appealing as well.

Good luck NCSSM Class of 2015 ;)

Daughter of Skrunch also accepted the Residential Finalist Position Tonight. She is very nervous, but looking forward to Discovery Day. I’ll get her to join CC and start communicating directly.

I was chosen as a residential finalist for class of 2015 and accepted the finalist offer.

I tried to log in to the school website today, but somehow I was not able to; the website said that I entered an incorrect username or password even though I did not.

IS IT JUST MY ACCOUNT???
