Thank you @TheAutodidact. We are impatiently waiting for Thursday.
Accepted at NC State but not into engineering. Exploratory studies. So he will go to VA tech. Its a shame he has to leave his home state for his education. Oh well!
Have you checked into exploratory studies? Not the end of the world if you want to study engineering at NCSU.
he is concerned about getting behind… Also there is no guarantee he will get accepted into engineering.
Here is what the university says about getting into your major after E.S. " NC State has internal transfer regulations (CODA) that vary from major to major and may change over time. Some of the programs have limited space and thus set high GPA standards for internal transfers, especially engineering, design, and business management. For this reason, we work with our students to build their academic skills so they can succeed academically and matriculate into the major of their choice. However, there is no automatic eligibility. All students must meet the requirements of their selected major.".
I feel that my kid with almost a 5.0 GPA and 2 years of experience at an BIG electronics company and basically 12 years of experience building robots and circuits should have been expected.
@eaglemom2014 - I keep wondering if there was a mistake in admissions screening somehow?
From what I have found out over 7000+ apply for 1500 spots in engineering. Just too much competition.
How hard is it to transfer from Marine Sciences, Physics Concentration to enginee…
Oh nevermind.
Man, this thread is the one that has me on edge. I only have a 3.6 UW and a 1160 on SAT 8-|
