They said on their twitter that they would tweet when they dropped the letters off at the post office

just saw the tweet!! they’ve been mailed!!

They’re in the mail!!!

To be more specific…

@NDadmissions: “Signed, sealed, delivered…#ND2017” with a photo reading “early action decisions are in the mail”

Hi peeps - I’m a current ND student who applied EA before. In the last few years they’ve mailed the letters on Thursday of finals week, and since today is Thursday of finals week I’m pretty sure they’re mailing them today/tonight. Based on what I saw on CC in the past, people who lived very close by (basically Northern Indiana alone) got their letters on Friday while most people from Chicago or other Midwest places within driving distance got their letters Saturday. Big cities that are flying distance away started getting them Monday. I personally got my letter on the East coast on Tuesday, but a few lucky ones that lived right outside of a city got theirs Monday. Most people got it Tuesday. You’ll get it Wednesday if you’re REALLY far away (Hawaii, Alaska, or someplace really isolated, like rural Montana) or have a lazy mailman.

Acceptance letters come in the mail in big white envelopes while rejection/deferral letters come in small envelopes.

If you get deferred, talk to your regional counselor IMMEDIATELY to figure out what you can do to get accepted. You want to make sure you’re accepted, not waitlisted, the 2nd time around - apparently only 7 people got off the waitlist last year (at least that’s what collegeboard.org says). Also, keep in contact with your regional admissions officer A LOT. They like when you show interest and you’ll need to do that in order to move up from a deferral to an acceptance. Do whatever it is they tell you to do (i.e. raise SAT/ACT) and keep in contact with them A LOT and you’ll be way more likely to get accepted than if you only raised your SAT/ACT or didn’t do anything at all.

EDIT: it’s official - https://twitter.com/NDadmissions/status/279344811776016384

Wow wow wow got the tweet and I am literally shaking… Monday here we go. Saying a prayer, best of luck to everyone!

I’ll light you all a candle in the grotto :)

Thanks 2CHiLLaXiN. We’ve done the candles every trip up this year for football (4), rubbed Rockne’s nose a few times as well. A couple of nervous days ahead. My son and I should be down at Bankers Life Fieldhouse watching ND hoops when the mail comes Saturday - didn’t think of this when I bought basketball tickets.

My son has done what he can, I’m proud of him regardless of whether its a big envelope or small. If it doesn’t work, he has excellent options already received and a few more pending.

Good luck to all of you. I’m sure all of you have excellent options. Your college experience is what you make of it and you can succeed wherever you end up.

they are sent!!!

edit: you all are very quick. I just drove home from school and saw the tweet and posted ASAP. I applaud you all for the commitment and hope we all get in. I’m guessing Monday (or very, very optimistic for saturday) for me, since I live in California.

Thank you 2CHiLLaXiN!

IM SO EXCITED!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

Thanks so much 2CHiLLaXiN!! Good luck everyone!!! Fingers crossed for everyone to get in :)

omg my blood pressure just skyrocketed I cant even…I doubt i’ll get mine saturday, hopefully monday bc i dont know how much longer i can stand the wait.

Well, it’s officially out of our hands now! Prayers for everyone!

Do you know if ND has sent emails to international students? I’m wondering when the email will arrive…

I go to a boarding school, so I listed my mailing address on the Common App as my school address-- but I will be home for winter break for the next few weeks. Does anybody know if I should expect a decision sent home or at school?

If it’s been mailed to school, is there anyway I could receive my decision via email?

rvirginia-that’s a really good question. I don’t know the answer, but I think you should call ND and ask

Great. I’m so excited but I’ll definitely be freaking out for the next couple of days.

@rvirginia Just email admissions@nd.edu and ask them. You should get a response fairly quickly on a weekday.

Thanks 2CHiLLaXiN :)

I am so scared right now. And excited. Since I’m in Michigan, I hope I get it Saturday!

Good luck everyone!!

Hey everyone. (: I can’t believe they’re sent… I have an AP bio test tomorrow and I cannot get myself to study… I’m stalking ND eeeeverything as usual. ;)

Is there anyone else in the Chicago suburbs? Do you think we’ll get them tomorrow or Saturday? I feel like I’m in a trance waiting for this letter…
