NDLS - Leadership Seminars?

Hi. My daughter is an incoming senior and is currently attending the Notre Dame Leadership Seminar. The school did not distribute any statistics about whether attending will give her an advantage in admissions. I have heard that most attendees end up with offers of admission, but I have no idea whether that is true. If anyone has information/experience with this, we would love to hear it? She loves Notre Dame and hopes to be admitted REA in the fall. Thank you.

I’ve had two sons attend NDLS. The first son only knew of a “couple” of people who weren’t admitted - and he said their behavior had an impact on their admission chances.

My second son had a quite a few friends not get admitted. All good stat kids but he didn’t think some of them “got Notre Dame” and were there more for the free trip. Also its just more competitive now.

Both of them are at ND now. Both were admitted REA and turned down Ivies to attend. It’s the right place for them.

My older D attended NDLS and she will be a senior at ND next year. She also knows of kids who attended but were not admitted, although most of her friends from NDLS were and are attending. I’m not sure it’s the boost it used to be but I think it should help your D write a very good “why ND” essay. Good luck to her!
