Received my packet today also. Was almost the exact amount the Net Price Calculator said. Decent amount of aid.
Just curious, what is considered “decent” FA for people here?
I just want to have a perspective for our own packages.
I might be expecting too much.
Our aid was several thousand less than NPC.
Our aid package was several thousand below the net price calculator estimate. And the Pell Grant in the award from Richmond was not as high as I think it should have been. Disappointed because Richmond is off the table now.
Count us amongst those disappointed by Richmond’s aid. It included a very small grant, but the bottom line is that we would have to pay more than $20K above our FAFSA EFC once books, travel costs, etc are factored in. I know Richmond is a CSS school, but I just never thought CSS would mean an upward adjustment of our family’s contribution by roughly 60%. And I did run the NPC. Put Richmond in the NFW column for us.
Got in and with a full ride.
@Nloramartinez so you are a Richmond Scholar? Because that is the only “full ride,” which has a merit connotation. Or did you get need based aid equivalent to cost of attendance? This thread is about need based aid.
@gclsports I believe @Nloramartinez qualified for the Richmond Promise, which provides full-ride need-based aid to Virginia students with a family income less than $60k.

@guineagirl96 You’re correct. I qualified for the Richmond Promise to Virginians.
