Anyone heard anything about when or how we will be notified?
Through the mail but not sure when. Did u apply ED or RD? ED2 last yr were mailed around 2/8.
Assuming you got accepted EA: “If you applied for need-based financial aid, you can expect to receive your aid package, by mail, in early February (assuming your aid application is complete).”
In a response to my email regarding aid, the University of Richmond Office of Financial Aid representative responded with this:
"For students who will be receiving merit-based aid, they will be getting notification of their merit aid in early March.
If you applied for need-based aid, you will be receiving a letter from our office in early February regarding your financial aid application."
Hope this is helpful!
Does anyone know if they will notify us when aid letters are mailed?
I just got mine in the mail
Were you an Early Action admit?
@taratarataratara How was the FA package relative to your expectations?
Does it match the NPC?
I was early action @confidentmom and it was pretty small, but I didn’t have high hopes @lalalander111
@taratarataratara Just wondering about your package relative to the NPC.
Did you not expect much because your family income is high?
How does UR comapare to other FA offers.
My D really likes Richmond but we have no idea if it will be affordable.
The NPC looks doable, though.
My daughter and I really like Richmond too. @taratarataratara were you low expectations due to a higher income? There so many factors that even the CSS doesn’t take into consideration.
@taratarataratara I would be curious as to how your package compared to the NPC calculator also?
I expected a low amount b/c of a somewhat high income, but I also heard that Richmond is very generous. I never used the NPC because I kind of knew it would be low and wanted to keep hope alive . I got a little more from Richmond than from University of Miami, but not by much (5k unsubsidized v. 3k unsubsidized). I’ve been relying on merit aid, but I didn’t get any from Richmond, so I don’t think it’s in my future. I hope you guys get some big $$$. @lalalander111 @confidentmom @acegikm
Just received our financial aid info. It ended up $2700 less than the NPC. Still a good aid package, but most other places we’ve heard from have have been closer to the NPC estimate.
Received our package and as expected but still hoping for merit; pkg was all need-based at this time. So far much better than other need offers and is top choice but still have 4 outstanding offers to hear from. In a holding pattern until late March
Need based package arrived today and was much around $8000 lower than expected. (NPC)
Too bad.
We really like UR, but now are considering other options.
Does Richmond give out other merit based aid later? Or did they give everything out with the Presidential and Richmond Scholar grants?
Need-based aid arrived today and the NPC was pretty accurate for us. We are self-employed and own rental property so we weren’t sure what to expect.
Daughter received hers this weekend and sadly it was WAY off from their net price calculator. Honestly, I was surprised she was not offered even a Presidential scholarship, let alone Richmond Scholars. She is a very high stats kid with great ECs and LOR. Very disappointing.
Is there anyone else here who has NOT received their FA package yet?
