I didn't apply for a scholarship, but all this notification/talk of it is making me nervous...should I be worried if I haven't gotten a letter or anything?
Silly question, probably.

Hi Samdub23--

There are some scholarships that do require a separate application and others that do not. The largest of our academic scholarship awards have now been offered--the Richmond Scholars (which required you to apply by Dec. 15 and be selected as a semi-finalist) and the Presidential Scholarships (for which every student in the applicant pool were considered). I you applied for the Bonner Scholars program, those notifications have not yet been made. If you applied for need-based financial aid, you will receive a financial aid award if you are offered admission, usually at the same time. There are some financial aid awards which can't go out at the same time with the admission offer--if you don't receive a financial aid package with an offer of admission (and I have no idea who you are to check on your admission status) then you should contact the Financial Aid Office to be certain your application is complete.

This process is now in the home-stretch so I know everyone is stressing out. But offers will be in the mail soon, so keep your fingers crossed! Good luck with whatever opportunities come your way!

Does this mean that there are no merit-based scholarships other than Richmond Scholars, Presidential Scholars and Bonner? There's only need-based left?

UR Admissions: Is it possible for you to tell us when you guys actually stick the letters in the mail? It would be cool to know a few days in advance when we should be looking out for it so we don't have to anxiously just the mailbox everyday.

I think the best thing to do is just to GET OFF CC and try to stop thinking about college. It's what I'm trying to do. Clearly not working as I'm on CC right now, and freaking out about college 24/7 :)

Haha yes I agree. I envy people who can just not stress until the decision comes in the mail! I should stop signing on and going to this website and the Richmond website because nothing is going to change until the decision actually comes. I should have given up the internet for lent....

the last 2 posts:
i was sooo good about not going onto cc until like yesterday and now i'm soo nervous and feel nauseous like 24/7. i've also stalked the postman the past two days. i can't wait until i get all my decisions back!

what date is richmond rumored to notify us on?

can we find out our decision online or do we have to wait for the letter?

Hi everyone--

I know you are all nervous and worried. (We're stressed, exhausted and more than a little cranky with each other!) Don't be stalking your postal person just yet. We are still working on making decisions. . . .

You will be notified by old-fashioned mail. We don't post the decisions on-line just because history tells us that there are people who will play games with information on-line and we want to protect everyone's privacy.

I'll give you a little nudge on this site when the letters are on the way, OK? In the meantime, try not to obsess about it--enjoy these days that make us know spring is near. It was 82 beautiful degrees here yesterday!

Awesome. It's good to know we'll have some warning before hand so we don't have to worry until then....

Now that it's freezing again (I'm in VA as well) and I'm stuck inside, I'm going to take the opportunity to say that I was hoping we would be nudged by now.

can't wait intill i get my rejection letter!, i hate being defered tell me then makes it a lot easier.

last year people got their letters by the 20th, i'm jealous.
