Need help cleaning up a prank

Me and some friends went to a kids house last night, and wet his car down, and then poured a bunch of 3lb bags of ice on his car. It's about 0 degrees right now. How does he remove the ice with out chipping paint, or cracking the windshield?

hair dryer? Garage?

Oh wait, that wouldn't work. The hair dryer would though

Get some buckets of hot water to melt the ice?

Oh and try putting antifreeze on it, too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't hot water crack the windows because of uneven heat distribution?

That wouldn't do anything... antifreeze is just a substance added to water in its liquid form to lower the freezing point. But since it's already frozen, it would do nothing to melt the ice...

Antifreeze seems like the best thing then...I suppose

get ahold of some propylene glycol.

That's used for deicing

:-P

The kid could aslo turn on his car and turn the defrosters on and put th heat all the way up and leave it like that until the ice melts.

Wouldn't the defroster do the same thing as the hot water? Really warm on one side, really cold on the other= cracks in the middle (windshield). I'd image the best bet is to just put in the garage for a few hours, then use defroster on medium setting. What do you guys think?

Or apparently at your local hardware stores they have aerosol window deicing products...

Oh the power of google

If you can get in the car, use the garage. That's easiest.

kinglin, that was def. not nice :(

kinda funny though, I bet :D

the antifreeze might help a little...it's what I do every morning bc I'm too lazy to just put it into the reservoir under the hood

Well I'm going to drive over there, and see what havok I've caused. Have to watch it though, he claims he called the cops.

Just hope he's not on CC!

Well my friend said he accualy put 20lbs of ice on his windshield, yikes. Anyways didn't look that bad when I took a look at it. Well then again, I just saw it from the road.

That's hilarious. And very very mean. But still hilarious.

what ended up happening, keep us updated!

Well I sit by the kid at lunch, but was unable to see him, because I was sick today. All I know is that he won't answer his phone, or talk to me on AIM. I'll see tomorrow what his thoughts are of it, granted I go to school tomorrow.

Just for future reference, in case anyone cares, I have one of those insta-hot faucets in my house and every day as I'm walking out the door I just fill up a bucket of 120 degree water and toss it on my car. So far, no windshield cracks (and I've been doing it every winter for 2 years now).

:)
